False. MeeCast cover really isn't working like I reported because even the dev reported it: http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...&postcount=259

Re: Update 1.0.9.n this week?

So what happens to non-developers like me? Do we get to update our phone after everything is stabilized (hoping it will be in a couple of weeks time from now!) or do we get an update that has less (yet stabilized) features? Or is every other update from now on going to an opt-in? Am a little confused here!

And booting is a lot slower as well. No big deal, but I wish it'd show something instead of a black screen for a couple of seconds.

Remove and install again. Now works like a charm.

Check the comments in TJC: https://together.jolla.com/question/...11038-uitukka/

gsalone: so when this is tested and refined, will it be available to all as a stable one (after removing the glitches)? or the only way to get this one is now as opt-in?

biijal: @gsalone, this one will continue to remain as an opt-in release. We are continuing to refine this and hope to provide the next update as a stable release to all.

Hmm not sure about this update.
After having to do a 'factory reset' and updating from 1.0.05 -> ... -> 1.1.038 (not direct update) I have noticed that pkcon in terninal fails with authorization error, unless run as root

Meecast v 0.9.2-1 works!

0.9.10-1 wont

I suppose everybody will get the same update over the air when this opt-in 13th or 14th release candidate gets canned as final release.

Feature list most likely not to be changed (reduced) unless a major issue is being detected by the wider testing group.

You need Meecast 0.9.2-1 from Openrepos, because last version from Jollastore don't work for me either

It's not 100% clear, but reading the following comment below the release notes I'd assume that Uitukka will not become a public release and they'll go on with update 10:

Strange that an older version does work but thanks a lot :) I can't live w/o the quick refresh cover action of MeeCast and your suggestion of installing 0.9.2 did solve it :)

Yes. I have also massive network problems. DO NOT UPGRADE if you want a usable phone. It'snot only buggy but completely failing.

@mariusmssj, @gaelic
Remove(or just rename) all manually created WPA2 Enterprise config files in /var/lib/connman/ then restart.
A fix is coming soon for all us that Opted-in. This fix will be included in Updated10 for everyone. There will not be stable Update9 for normal users.

Thanks for the info zlatko.

So I lost wifi in work and at home now? I assume manual files don't work any-more?

Don't generalize. I don't have any network problems. Only that connection dropped 1 or 2 times in the last 24 hours, but I have that same problem on my laptop as well so that's not a SOS sofware problem. So again: please don't generalize.

There is a fixed rpm-package which you can install to make things work again: Link to TJC :)

this is nothing new, it came back with the update in july, with the different Android windows in home screen

Re: Update 1.0.9.n this week?

That's why I disabled the bottom bar in build.prop (learned that trick @ JollaUsers Forum). All but one app I use have different ways of navigating besides the bottom back button anyway so I don't need it.

@Jeffrey04 you mean inside app covers, not homescreen itself?

Might be small update but I asolutely love it!
See, I just noticed this fixes one of the most annoying bugs in the device, which leaves only the browser-mis-hitting-link bug out there!!

After 1.1.0.39 conman fix my WLAN does not disconnet any longer :D
I can happily leave WLAN on for hours, and when I ssh to the device it is reachable!
Even after I went out for a run for 30 minutes with my device, when I came back it automatically connected to my WLAN and is still connected

I'm so happy! :)

will check it out, so far making the device always-responsive to ssh ruined the battery life (forcing no sleep), this is great news

I liked also that Jolla has accepted a patch from a 3rd party and *quickly* deployed it on the field.

Development internally focuses on an "always green" master (relatively speaking. Sometimes it breaks, but that's hopefully rare, knock on wood.) In practice, this means that internal development builds are basically always reflecting the master state of git repositories around the place. Developers mostly run this.

At some point during the development cycle, things are branched off to create a release (because, well, you need to settle down and make things sane and have some control over what is going to be released). QA happens on this level, and release candidates (internally) happen off this at a regular rate.

Once things are deemed good enough (no known blockers open), then things get pushed out for public release.

In practice, this means that there can be multiple release tracks ongoing at a time. For instance, while one update is maturing for release, the next is already generally cooking in the development tree.

Thx, Sounds good as long as jolla using master plus one RC. Too many will indeed be a mess :D its obvious that its More difficult for jolla to push to public nowdays. Monthly releases seems no longer valid.

Ok, so there is an optional release but any news on the official one from any sources. My late October date has long since gone, next guess is 28 November.
