For those who are still new, check my signature for the Overclocking Guide.
It'll give you some ideas about what it's about and hopefully answer most of your initial questions.

Re: Overclock the N900?

any one willing to try and restore original kernel via apt-get to see if it restores information?

i'm currently tweaking and messing easy debian

How to revert back to non-overclocked factory stock kernel state:
1. Launch xterminal
2. sudo gainroot (assuming you have rootsh installed)
3. apt-get install --reinstall kernel kernel-flasher
4. reboot

Sure, it is bulky with the huge heat sink on the backside and you might need a nuclear reactor to power this thing on a longer trip, but at least you are on the cutting edge, right?

Oh, well, never mind. ;)

How would that even work? It would still be dissipating heat through the battery at a minimum and possibly the back cover as well.

@zvogt
@Megaltariak
Thanks to you guys, now I'm relieved :) I'll just wait for a week-to see if any device explodes or something bad happens lol and then I will flash kernel =)

Thanks HQH ....

I tested and it worked fine.

Unfortunately, It does not restore the Missing info at "About Product" under [System] [Settings] .

i.e it still shows the following....

Nokia N900
<unknown>
version: <unknown>

Is there a way of restoring this info without a full reflash?

Yeah, that seems to be the case. I wonder what package does that (edit: mp-fremantle-generic-pr does)
