Longtime favorite Midnight Commander is in the Extras-devel repo, too.

https://garage.maemo.org/frs/downloa....3.1-1_all.deb and put it in your documents on the n900,use the original file manager to open the file in your documents folder click om deb file it should install then go to you desktop and click on the top left corner,then click on more and you will see the new Homunculus file you can create a shortcut to your desktop hope this helps.

Still the same problem, when i try to open the app i get a black background and at the top where it says Homunculus file manager theres a spinning icon then it boots me back to my desktop.

If i open via xterm i get this error message..

Try to uninstall go to desktop application manager uninstall find homunculs then click on it once it been uninstalled re-install it again.

same prob still, i must have a conflicting package or summat :confused:

Sorry biggzy may need to check other installed packages which sounds like they could be conflicting with this one, you could always uninstall them one by one till you find the one that's giving you the problem do a backup first.

That error indicates a missing library - probably python-gtk2. Try:

apt-get install python-gtk2

Did the above, installed a lot of packages but the new file manager still hangs at opening, iv rebooted, removed and reinstalled, im lost.

I run easy-debian, so I made a shortcut pcmanfm.desktop to pcmanfm in easy debian. Full file manager with full access.
