Speak for yourself. I think that having portrait mode would be useful ocassionally, I can live happily without it. There are many other features much more important for me that are currently only found on the N900. And I suspect there are lots of people that feel the same way I do. So, while I can see that this may be important for some, just don´t claim to speak for all of us.

Something else I have no use for. I don´t think Silverlight is available in Android either. Personally I don´t like Silverlight because it is controlled by MS. So I hope never to see it supported in either Android or Maemo. Fortunatelly, it looks like both platforms are doing just fine without it.

Wrong.

Fix vpnc which checks old Maemo file to determine the Maemo-specific configuration way incorrectly - script vpnc-script looks into existence of file /etc/osso_software_version. Unfortunately that script runs each time even vpnc is not started.

BTW, don't try create /etc/osso_software_version - device behavior could change, it is some way to restrict old Maemo versions (application updates).

I wouldn't tell you to not text and drive, but many police authorities in states will tell you, based on their laws. Are your texts that important to risk the lives of others on the road? If so, why not just get a bluetooth enabled device to just "talk" to the person, given the urgency and importance of your communication.

As an avid road cyclist, who has been hit by a car despite safe cycling practices and following local law, and also knows many others who have been hit by cars while on their bikes, its a shame hearing that people take this attitude.

As for Android, coming from a Droid, and still frequenting the Droid/Android forums, you're in for a whole other world of issues...more so than the 900.

i have maemo-luncher is not to upgrade list after update . would it be ok if i do apt-get dist-upgrade and update it?

Do I have to do something special to get the portrait mode in the browser? Mine shows only in landscape even after the update.

Charging/battery reporting seems to be buggy now.

Started at 972ma. Charged to 1072ma and it stopped charging by it self. (Charge-Led stopped blinking and no charge indication on bar display)

Then I unplugged charger - and plugged it back in.

It showed full bars but 1072ma.

Now it is charging again - and within 2 min showing 1221ma current charge - last full 1072ma (and still charging)

It did not have it when you bought it. Nokia did not promise it. So it is your fault. Your angry complaining is tiresome and unwarranted. Just buy your Android and try not to kill someone (or yourself) while using it in the car. Anyone who talks so cavalierly about endangering lives can go ?&#£ themselves as far as I am concerned.

i find that calling your phone works better as some people have trouble activating it
