You may be permanently broke if the file is empty and there is no replacement.

No never permanent when dealing with text files ;)

As root
Code:

echo "# Place your script to /etc/maemo-dhcp.d/ directory so that it gets run." > /etc/udhcpc/libicd_network_ipv4.script
echo '' >> /etc/udhcpc/libicd_network_ipv4.script
echo 'run-parts -a "$1" /etc/maemo-dhcp.d >> /etc/udhcpc/libicd_network_ipv4.script

This is true.. I just didn't know what the script was supposed to contain ;).

I'm flying blind here... Can't afford me an N900 :).

You've got the right idea (Assuming libicd-network-ipv4 is the actual package name that is installed.)... what I was thinking is dpkg -i --force-overwrite <package>.

I'm not sure if thats for replacing modified files on the system or overwriting files that were provided by another package.

I don't know yet too - I am still on 44.1 and researching problems.

After I upgrade OTA I will look into it, but old 44.1 has only libicd-network-ipv4 and vpnc packages with text "libicd_network_ipv4". Also, ibicd-network-ipv4.list has just yet another file libicd-network-ipv4.so or so. Only two files to install.

But that is 44.1 not 52.x

BTW, do you now, how to force debian package RECALCULATE file checksum? It would definitely fix a problem, because libicd-network-ipv4 package does NOT have a checksum for file /etc/udhcpc/libicd_network_ipv4

I do not. Never really dealt with a problem like that before.

This should work.

DIsclaimer: I haven't tried this myself, but if you are desperate...

Code:

apt-get install --reinstall  -d libicd-network-ipv4
dpkg -i --force-confnew /var/cache/apt/archives/libicd-network-ipv4*

Right, I see. Very noble of you.
You have the SDK?
I have installed it but I haven't started playing with it yet.
