the volume on this device is way too low. when i put volume at half bar it ia putting my volume at 10% and when i put 25% i dont hear a thing. this is especially with ringtones. this means the device could have higher volume level...

Lock conversations with a password. I do not want people to mess around with my text messages and so on.

Then lock your device instead with a password. Password "protection" (well, I can still access the data by opening X Terminal, you are aware of this?) on a per-app basis is the last thing I want.

Sorry, but obscurity is something different than security.

Please do understand that adding a password protection does not make it ANY safer at all. You just *feel* safer, but your data *is not*.
