after following the steps what should the cmd screen display beacuse it doesnt output anythning even no errors but i have no reaction on my N900

hi Matan,

After installation of 1.14...my CPU usage is optimum and this solved my problem of fast battery consumtion. Thanks a lot..!!!

I have 1.14 version...could make 6 desktops now....but not successful adding background for last 2 desktops...tried all options...!!!

Are you sure you installed the modified hildon-home? What is the output from

ls -l /usr/bin/hildon-*

gconftool -R /apps/osso/hildon-desktop/views

ls -l /usr/bin/hildon-* gives lot of output..I will send that over mail..

gconftool -R /apps/osso/hildon-desktop/views says
current = 4
active = [1,2,3,4,5,6]
..then path for each desktop image...

I checked that all images are present at their respective location.

When setting images, I used "gconftool-2" instead of gconftool ...is that creating problem?

I I downloaded .deb file for hildon home but missed the step

dpkg -i hildon-home_0.3.58+0m5_armel.deb

Now I can set backgrounds for other desktops...but only using xterm..not from desktop menu.

I'm at work so I don't have much time to read through all the posts for an answer to my question.
I'm wondering if anyone has made an attempt to get a 3x3 grid layout for the desktops?

on my N900 there is one update from Simple Brightness Applet and I cant update it because

Unable to update 'Simple Brightness Applet'
Application packages missing: libhildon1 (>=2.2.10)

how can I fix this problem..?
do I have to reinstall to original hildon desktop?
