So is it possible to have grid or/and maybe some sort of crosshair/finder to the bless N900. Does having one make any sense?

I also had BlessN900, FCamera and the standard camera application all crash on my N900 while using 1.3 and kernel 45.

This was fixed by starting the terminal application and keying

sudo gainroot
apt-get update
apt-get upgrade

This updated several files that were not detected by the
Application Manager
and
Faster Application Manager

I could upgrade to 0.43 version with no issues. BlessN900 works flawlessly. Thanks eugene.panich.

I'm on 1.3 and power kernel v42, don't want 45 as it's in devels and has uboot which i'm not interested in.
When Bless was installed before it worked flawlessly as did the default camera, i updated Bless yesterday and the kernel so i think it's a conflict. I uninstalled it (didn't touch the fcam drivers) and the default camera worked. I installed the version from extras to try that and it all crashed - bless, default camera. So i uninstalled again and default camera works again.

I have the same problem, fcam-applications don't work with power kernel (with extra-devel-version too), just install fcam-drivers and default camera-app crashes every time at start.

running power46 without uboot and both apps seem to run fine!

Mankir is right. I was also on PR1.3 with power42 and had that problem with camera and fcam drivers, default cam crashes, also flashlight did not work.
I updated (from extras-devel) to power46 and problem is gone. It looks also like this is known bug already, as I could read the message when trying to install BlessN900 or FCamera with power42 active -and extras-devel actvated- that there is a problem: fcam drivers needs power kernel >=44.
