For BB orders...If you are not able to cancel your order and the status reads "ships in 0 - 1 days" ....I just called BB this morning and they say that the orders will ship today.

For reference, I placed the order on 7:02 EST on Sunday.

Apparently alot of B&N orders got cancelled... better order from somewhere else if you ordered from them..

In time, keeps checking for the deals :)

That said, if you are quick you can pick up 16gb models for £150 from ebay (inc P+P). I am still scouring the web and plan a trip around our local electrical retail park after work.

quick look on line for uk sales shows the cheapeast around £325 for a 16gb.
all the ebay sales I have seen are from us sellers.
any luck on uk sales? and can we run another os on this tablet?

Their confirmation email states:
f the status says "Cannot be removed" it is in process to ship to you.

Actually there are several sites like that, most of them asking for donations and spewing ********. The issue is that the device even has the Android kernel (because Palm guys seemingly didn't have time), and it even has android features enabled. So running Android is like, trivial.

Either way, It makes me really, really sad to see this bunch of people talking about how the webOS is useless and they're buying 30 touchpads to replace it with Android.

Also the entire fact that all TouchDroid idiots use the HP logo everywhere instead of Palm's makes me even more sad.


I can only imagine what my feelings would be if a similar thing happened to the N9.

Has anyone answered the question YET?!

Can the TouchPAD run Maemo/Meego and become the new "step" child of this community?

That determins if I get one or not.

So far, I don't think anybody can answer your question fully. The lack of open drivers for the chipset might be a hindrance, but for Android, it might not be as bad since basically this is the same hardware as the HTC EVO 3D.

Let's see. My money is on Android first, MeeGo perhaps in a bit later.
