As Sailfish OS is a mobile Linux OS, I hope it has/will have :
- a good X Terminal;
- File Manager;
- full TeX/LaTeX compiler (TeXLive, etc), as well as some text editor (from community) with TeX/LaTeX support;
- many packages from Linux (OpenSuse, Fedora, etc), so it will be just a matter of creating a good GUI interface for some sophisticaded and specific library/software (programming language, scientific tool, etc) not available to non-Linux mobile OS;

So, no more dumbed down OS which try to reinvent the wheel, but instead a Linux mobile (Sailfish and Ubuntu Touch) using 30-40 years of Unix/Linux development.

Part of the items above can be provided my Mer and/or Nemo, contributed by Jolla and the community.

veskumaps, google maps client, the dev says yes as soon soon he has free time.

Vesku Hartikainen, the dev of Veskumaps is working at Jolla, so wouldn't it be logical that Sailfish default map app would be based on Veskumaps? Or if they are using a different map provider then maybe not...

Truly don't know, but I've added it in the Apps list and marked it up accordingly.
The more the better. :D
