Re: Dialcentral 1.0

I am having the same issue with not being able to login to google voice anymore. It started yesterday morning and I seem to be getting the same errors as others in this thread.

Are there any test I can run to help figure out what is going on?

You can download the a script, run it, sanitize the data for your username, and post the results.

Maybe tomorrow I'll release an updated version that tries some experimental ways at logging in.

Attached the output of the script as well as the error it throws at the end.

Here is another version to try for those with login issues.

Changes:
  • Filled in the rest of the login parameters
  • Printing the data being used for login (including password)
  • Removed downloads unrelated to this issue
  • Applied login optimization

Let me know if this helps with login.

Could you try commenting out (prefixing with a "#") one, then the other, then both of these lines
Code:

                "rmShown": "1",
                "GALX": glxToken,

That'll help narrow down what it is google is being a pain about

commenting out the GLAX gave an error

gv3 is minus rmshown
gv4 is minus glax

have fun

Re: Dialcentral 1.0

Same result as n9ots. Script 2 seems to log me in. Commenting out 'rmshown' still works, commenting out GALX fails with the 'Could not extract authentication token.'

Grrr Google. I just sped up login times and now you are making me slow it down some more.

I'll try and get out tonight a build of 1.0.7-0 with this fix. Also in it will be descriptions when selecting callback numbers and the Messages tab only showing the last 4 texts per conversation (Phone Selection and SMS dialogs will show entire conversation)

Re: Dialcentral 1.0

1.0.7-0 is now in extras-devel.

Changes
* Sped up various login cases
* Added descriptions to the callback numbers
* Collapsed conversations in the messages tab
* Bug Fix: Random people were reporting login issues
* Debugging: Improved logging output

Especially those experiencing login issues and those interested in collapsed conversations in the Messages tab please give this a try?

I'm impressed, you were quick to notice me uploading that to extras-devel.

I'm not seeing this on my device. Could you perform the following steps?
  1. Confirm Dialcentral is closed
  2. Could you clear your log ("rm ~/.dialcentral/dialcentral.log")
  3. Rerun Dialcentral
  4. Post the log entry created (~/.dialcentral/dialcentral.log)

Thanks

I know this might sound odd but in that run of Dialcentral with that log did you try the callback selection?

The log shows no errors for the callback selection but does show trying to dial out without a callback number selected.

Qole has been kind enough to do some early Fremantle testing. Since then I did a bit of work to try and better match the Fremantle UI. I tested this work under Mer. If any issues remain, they should be pretty simple.

If people who have the SDK working could test under Fremantle, that would be much appreciated. I think I even uploaded 1.0.7-10 to extras-devel.

My hope is within the next couple days I will have a setup to start testing to make sure its ready in time. This has become a priority in terms of my development.

Yes, I tried his "fix," but it didn't work for me for some reason.

Anyway, thanks for all of your hard work!

In that run I tried a call to 411 which popped an error line at the bottom stating no call back number

Edited settings.ini to include the call back number and everything is working fine now

Thanks for all the work

Awesome work on version 1.0.7-0, absolutely no bugs or issues for me, the collapsed messages is perfect, and I have never had it log in this fast. Keep up the great work!

I've been running around super busy trying to find and apartment to rent, so I haven't had time to connect to any Wifi much. I noticed that Dialcentral was not able to log in, but I didn't have time really investigate. Well, I got an apartment finally and after hooking up my router, my tablet had an update...it was the latest of DC. It works perfectly. I love all the changes Epage. I am really impressed with all the adjustments. Everything works great over here in China. All my friends back in the US can call me and I can call them all for free. Time difference is a problem of course. Epage can you fix the time difference?:p

For login fixes, most of the thanks go to TronDD, tgrondin, and n9ots for their patience in helping me work through this issue. The rollout of GoogleVoice that caused this break still hasn't hit me. I can login fine without the fix. Only with their cooperation was I able to determine what the potential issues were and to test the fix.

I'm glad the move worked out and I hope you. Would it would with the times if I just had Dialcentral use a random number generator with listing times messages were sent/received ;)

Re: Dialcentral 1.0

In appreciation of the help I recently received I thought I'd come clean. I started working on a GoogleVoice support for Telepathy that I'm calling "The One Ring".

I have not previously announced this publicly due to lack of documentation (affects my time table) and I am concerned what the end user experience will actually be like. I don't like keeping it quiet though so I thought I'd mention this.

It is not in any kind of working state right now. I am unsure if I will build support in for RTComm for the n8x0. My main target is the Desktop and n900. Due to how slow development is going I will probably not make Maemo Summit for this. At least there should be Dialcentral available in time for Maemo Summit for the n900.

I expect the initial release will only work with people on your contact list and maybe only 1 number per contact. I hope to have both texting (including receiving voicemails as texts) and initiating calls though one or the other might be dropped for initial release.

In Summary: The One Ring is vaporware but I'm excited for it.

Love, how some messages are hidden from view and when you click the message now it shows you the most recent message.

As part of my The One Ring work I will not abandon Dialcentral. It will still be important for Diablo and to fill in interface gaps in The One Ring

EDIT: To confirm this, 1.0.7-0 was released after I started The One Ring. The One Ring is meant to co-exist and not replace Dialcentral.

Hey Epage

I am also having an issue with the call back number not being accesable. Here is a screen shot. Its not an issue for me but if you have some things for me to try I'll certainly give you a hand. I noticed this on the last release as well so its not something you just recently changed, at least for me.

Knowing it was in the last release also makes me feel a bit better, that its basically been there since I first did the new callback number work.

I'll try and take a look into it tonight.

Re: Dialcentral 1.0

Just a hint about my old callback number problems...

Apparently, I have been "grandfathered in" to Google Voice. My Canadian callback numbers were imported from Grandcentral, but I cannot edit them nor can I add any new Canadian numbers. This is a (stupid) GV policy, not the fault of your application.

This may be why I was having problems in the first place with the callback numbers.

I have also noticed the missing callback number field.

n9ots 2009-10-02 22:37

Re: Dialcentral 1.0

I noticed that after I edited the settings.ini by putting in the call back number that the box for said call back number is there when the program is next started

epage 2009-10-02 22:40

Re: Dialcentral 1.0

My best guess is the Google rollout that I haven't seen yet broke my gathering of callback numbers. I'm providing something to harden against this type of situation and am going to post another script so people can grab me the list of callback numbers.

Ah turd.

Updated to 1.0.7-0.

Everything was real nice for awhile there.

Later, I accidently started up Dialcentral when I was in offline mode.

I can no longer log in.

Stupid error of unhappiness reads:
'NoneType' object has no attribute 'group'

I haven't gotten the rollout that breaks DIalcentral login prior to 1.0.7 and I ended up getting the same error. I've got a fix I'm prepping for us.

Intereting, it sounds like it might be related to cookies.

As general note, I just uploaded 1.0.7-1 which should be of help for those getting the "None Object" error and it at least makes the callback button work you just might not see any of your pre-configured callback numbers

I'm still getting weirdness, epage.

No error but it pops up the login screen after first attempt. Then after pressing ok to try it again, it just hangs there doing nothing but with no crash.

Not sure how to problem solve this. All I can say is that there's a definite two thing pattern going on here.

Earlier, I did notice some google folder on my memory card so I deleted it thinking that I could just start over fresh again and not have to wait for this current release.

Was that a boo-boo? :)

I just realized. What does it mean to you "hangs there with no crash". Can you switch tabs? On the Accounts tab can you click "Login"? What does it do?

All your log shows is a failure to grab some authentication information.

Previously I've posted a script that can help in this situation. With Dialcentral installed, you run this script and it will download all of the raw HTML I am processing

The following is kind of what you would end up doing.
Code:

$ mkdir gvoice_junk
$ cd gvoice_junk
$ unzip PATH_TO_ZIP/generate.zip
$ python2.5 generate_gv_samples.py USERNAME PASSWORD
$ vi *.html # Or preferred text editor, to sanitize any sensitive information
$ zip PATH_TO_PLACE_ZIP/results.zip *.html

Re: Dialcentral 1.0

I think I'd like to take that comment back.

I thought it would hang, but now, I think the second time trying to log in, it just doesn't do anything.

So not seeing an error or some kind of feedback on the screen, I first thought it was hanging.

But yeah, I guess that's not happening. I have full functioning on everything else including trying to log in again.

I'm trying your script right now...
