what a boob! I actually used that thread to locate the download for ioquake hehe I assumed that as the title states it was more about alice etc hehe

To be honest Im happy with the autoaim for now, as Im worried the accelerometer will be too hard to play, but will keep an eye on the thread thanks ;)

On PR 1.1.1. I loved this!

Now on RC PR 1.2 no install....

Libglews errors and when I try to install that single deb, I still have an error...
Not compatible package..

Is there somebody who has this running on RC PR 1.2 ???

There is no problem anymore now to install the maemo6 version.

What about the older maemo5 version its giving me a dependencie problem, why is this not automaticly fixed with a older one of ioquake3?

ps. ''apt-get install libgles1-sgx-img'' version 0.20091104.34+0m5 and older 5 version installed after that, working great.

I hope someone from you could help me to get ioquake3 running on my n900... I'm on new PR1.2

I copied the *.pak and the *.cfg files to /home/user/baseq3
Ioquake3 still shows blackscreen then exits...

add "set aim 1" into /home/user/baseq3/autoexec.cfg, it should work.

Just opened autoexec.cgf and that value seems to be there already :confused:

that's a big crashlog, never saw it like that before. did you installed Quake3 Arena with app manager and moved the patched pk3 files to baseq3 map? you don't need to and better not copy any config. just copy the pk3 files to home/user/.q3a/baseq3, only the autoexec.cfg must be edited if wanted and it works when not edited when fresh installed Quake 3

There are files mysteriously missing in ioquake3_1558-maemo6, the previous (-maemo5) version works for me. It seems to be gone from maemo.org but can be found at http://espejo.freemoe.org/repository...ee/i/ioquake3/

I would like to follow these steps but when I plug in the usb cable from n90 to my windows pc and I go into the folders of the n900 I dotn see /home/user/.q3a/baseq3/q3config.cfg

anywhere in the memory does anyone know whats going on?

Also dont know if this is normal but on one of the maps the doors that open automatically are corrupted the textures are weird looking but once you go through them the other side of the room is fine.

And the T4 tourney map is messed up with its textures ingame plus the same door issue too. I dont knwo if I corrpted some files in quake3 while it was running but I had to tirn off the phone because I didnt know how to exit the game with Fn+ = So I hit the top middle button to see if I see end task in the list and it wasnt there and it got stuck there but quak3 kept on running in the background so I had to turn off the n900 by holding down the power button for couple seconds. Help thanks

You need SSH into your N900 if you want to edit the files via your PC. Or you could do it through X-terminal: cd /home/user/.q3a/baseq3/ and then leafpad /home/user/.q3a/baseq3/q3config.cfg (or vi or other software you might have) to edit the files.

You need to copy the .pak files to:

/home/user/.q3a/baseq
Works fine for me on PR1.2

cp /home/user/MyDocs/baseq* /home/user/.q3a/baseq will copy all yours PAK's over.

Awesome leafpad worked.

Now upon starting quake3 it asks for cd key this time i entered with no problems and went online to frag, but when I exit quake3 and went back it asks for cd key again does anyone know how to make it stick>?

bought new n900 after i messed up screen on old one..


so im instaling q3 again...

but cant find ioquake!?!?

i checked that im looking in right repositorz.. but cant find it... was it removed or im an idiot?

just wondering if anyone is having trouble with getting autoaim working?

ive added the line to autoexec.cfg

set aim 1

//set shoot 1

but it still doesnt seem to be working?

ive also disabled the accelerometer, which has disabled it, except the jump, even though ive put q3config.cfg

Happened to me as well. I tried soo many times installing Quake 3 to no avail. Once I launch the game I get the same corrupted graphics and then the only way to exit is to reboot from the power button. I have seen screen shots of how the game starts and I believe that's the screen wher you enter the game key. (Hit enter and you will get another messed up screen like that).

Anyhow, read the entire thread on the game and the screen shot you posted was the closest I got LOL. Would love to hear if anyone has solved this one.

I am do not have any errors :) But I want to tell you how to place you quake data files to the big flash(/home/user/MyDocs folder) instead of internal memory. It done wery easy with symbolic links. In my case I place baseq3 folder to the root of MyDocs and execute following commands in terminal:
sudo gainroot
cd /home/user
ln -s /home/user/MyDocs/baseq3/* baseq3
This creates symbolic links to all files and place it in apropriate directory ;) Use and fun!

There is no point in moving the files in MyDocs, it makes no difference. Thanks anyway.

Yes I appreciate the response too, but apparently you're not aware that space is NOT the issue here. The game just doesn't work for some of us, and this is not helping.
