Quick question (I read through prob'ly half this thread since it started, in chunks, but didn't see too much mention of it until just recently with some people complaining about it popping up on alarms and incoming calls):

Does this work (the backend that makes it hide itself when the lockscreen would be hidden and makes it put itself to the front of the screen when the lockscreen would be visible) exactly like Mohammad's original enhanced lockscreen? Or have you done anything else in the code to make sure qtlockscreen integrates better over the original lockscreen? Since with enhanced lockscreen I had quiet a few messed up things happen, including once having the lock screen remain visible under the application menu after I unlocked the screen after having locked it in the application menu.

It's similar to enhanced lockscreen, but I had to watch some more dbus messages (com.nokia.csd.Call::Coming for the calls as it seems to be fired before the MCE_CALL_STATE_SIG and com.nokia.system_ui.signal::alarm_dialog_status for the alarm dialog).

I don't have any issue with incoming calls and alarm, but some users reported to have some problem (but I don't know what hack/app/mod can cause problems)

As far as my unclocked N900 is concerned I do not suffer from the lock ups I suffered with MAG's original lockscreen. The only issue I get is that my FM car kit sometimes freezes the phone but I am not 100% sure this is down to the QTLS.

Check the size of the slider (equal to the size of the image you use) and the size of the widget.
The slider can freely move inside the widget, so if the slider is 64 pixel height and the widget 70...you can move it up and down by 6 pixel. ;)

hey is this fixed in the next update? like when i used to slide unlock my phone, it sometimes showed the lockscreen for 2 seconds. it should show only in when i press power button. is it fixed now the lag?

I know that you did so much for us to make this awesome app , but I am very much annoying :D because my questions and suggestions , I have 2 questions and 2 suggestions :)

Q1 - are planing to do something new with QtLockscreen ? and what ?

Suggestions :

1- make a widget that make us able to hange between general and silent ( like silder or/and button )

2- make a widget that show connections like gsm , bluetooth and wlan

Q2- can I use more than 7 images to indicate battery level ?

i have installed the latest v 0.7 but i have problem :

when i turned screen off i was recived an chat massage after that i have opend lock screen button but it is display the qtlockscreen first just less than second and then opend the chat window .

why it is opend the qtlockscreen for socend .

note : it is works fine with power button

I guess you must remove the percentage as I mentioned then make another battery widget with removing the images of the battery and keeping the percentage :)

is there a possibility to add more than one unlock buttons, but with different icons and different actions after unlocking.

For example I could have mail icon, and if I slide it instead, I will end up with mail open + unlock.
Same would be for IM and missed calls.

At the end I will have 4/5 unlock buttons and depending which one I'm sliding, I will get different behavior.
Also some actions could happen in advance, for example if I receive a mail, and slide the mail icon, I would like to see my mail ASAP. So lock screen could just start mail upon mail receiving and keep it in background, when I unlock the device, I will just get the corresponding app in focus.

Just ignore it, if it is discussed earlier, I didn't read everything from the beginning.

is it still buggy after the update? like it sometimes lags when u slide unclock ur phone. it sometimes shows the lock screen when u slide unlock however its supposed to only show if u press power buttong

I suppose most of the problems you've described comes from:

1) heavy pictures. So I'm blaming the themes here
- when I use default theme of QtLockscreen then it is fast and I cannot see QtLockscreen when i slide to unlock.
2) a known bug that is described on page 1. When power button is pressed everything freeze for some time.
- this could explain rotation problems and others, like out of date info for different widgets.

I can confirm that I can see them in latest release as well.

Architectural/design question:

Does QtLockscreen entirely replace the standard hildon/Maemo lockscreen, or does it work in an 'overlay' kinda fashion? I.e., are two or one processes running handling the locking?

EDIT: i'm asking cause i still somehow see the original partly lockscreen through (like QtLockscreen would have not100% opacity and the default lockscreen is still enabled)

Hi sakya, after several attempts, I was not able to make work your app, I copied the ini and images provided with the Marina mod and followed all of the instructions for the following:

All was succesfull, (even the default screen works), but at the time of locking the screen, just the letters are shown with the album artwork... Everything else is black, no icons nothing!!!

its gettin better and better. thanks:)
only stil a problem with the rotation. when i keep the phone in landscape. everythings works( rotations). but when I keep the phone in portrait mode and press the powerbutton the lockscreen shows up in portrait mode, but when I rotate it in landschape, only I few widgets chance from position but everything stays in portraitmode

The rotation bug will be fixed in the next update (hopefully, I can't test it because I don't use a modified hildon desktop).

I can add an option in the config file to do this... ;)
