yup. couldn't get it to fully apply and couldn't make calls with the theme applied. when iI revert to the default theme, the meego splash screen is left behind and the display is stuck at landscape.

this is right after a fresh flash of both the device and emmc.

Re: F.D.B. (Faster, Darker, Better) Themes v5.2 (12/1/12)

the issues only seem to pop up when using the sh script.

there are no issues when using the theme changer.

as stated above, it leaves the new splash screen behind, even after you use the default script.

i could not even get it to use the cyan colored one without manually changing it out...even after i replaced the booting picture file.

ceroberts,

your theme looks awesome, along with all of f2thaks work.

i had to reflash my device and doing so, i am unable to activate devloper mode. i have theme changer app on my phone, so my question is, is there anyway to activate your theme without using terminal? everytime i put the cyan folder into my n9 via mass storage theme changer does not recognize the theme being there?

Re: F.D.B. (Faster, Darker, Better) Themes v5.2 (12/1/12)

not really, because you have to transfer the files to the usr/share/themes folder which requires root.

what happens when you devel-su/rootme?

can you post what the error is that youre getting?

i changed the clock in the theme.

it was like the one pictured above, and now looks like this.

your thoughts?

also, i am about 90% finished with a matching magenta theme for those with a magenta device. i dont think that i will post so many screen shots, but it literally mimics the cyan only matches the magenta. after changing about 3000+ images...1 by 1...my finger is a bit...uhh numb! lol.

i still see where i can change some of the cyan and the magenta colors so that some of the buttons are not the stock. i will eventually get to that before v2. my guess, is that v2 will be the final version of these two theme colors.

btw...i have decided to not make a light cyan as the colors are just too bright and do not match the device as well.

EDIT: i have just added a taste/hint of the magenta. :)

Re: F.D.B. (Faster, Darker, Better) Themes v5.2 (12/1/12)

it is supposed to revert completely as far as i can see.

but it doesnt change the booting.png to original, that has to be changed manually.

@ceroberts75

I would like to try your cyan theme and would like to do it via theme changer, copying the necessary files manually.

Being a noob (this is my first linux device), could you please point me to where I could find the proper code to input in developer mode to copy the files where I should? Or if it's okay, maybe you could post the proper code here?

Thanks so much guys!

I've really been trying to change the theme on my white n9 but I just keep messing it up and reflashing it over and over again.

Re: F.D.B. (Faster, Darker, Better) Themes v5.2 (12/1/12)

simply type in terminal:
cp -R /home/user/MyDocs/cyan_v1.4 /usr/share/themes/
then use themechanger to select fdbt-cyan v1.4

Re: F.D.B. (Faster, Darker, Better) Themes v5.2 (12/1/12)

here is a link to the latest update of my theme.

it includes:

theme changer
winscp

this is the cyan:
http://www.mediafire.com/?70d7de7thz99rus

this is the magenta:
http://www.mediafire.com/?2gtpf7p5naf9d6c

the magenta is a bigger file because i have included more image changes. the cyan still needs to catch up a bit, but is not noticable like the magenta. hence the magenta, if not done, felt incomplete.

please let me know if you see something that is not matching and take a screenshot for me and i will fix it.

raptor could you tell me how you got it to work?

even when i place the cyan folder in usr/shared/themes it still does not show ?

Re: F.D.B. (Faster, Darker, Better) Themes v5.2 (12/1/12)

it should only be the "cyan-v1_4" folder.

not the fdbt-cyan-v1_4

like what ceroberts75 said. Copy only the folder inside the fdbt folder and like the dead1440 said, it should be at /usr/share/themes/

@ceroberts75

I couldn't get the black backgrounds. The background I get is light gray so that I'm having difficulty reading my text in messages and mail. I'm just at work but I'll be posting screenshots later.

ah the light background... I've mentioned it earlier in the thread...

use winscp login as user: root
copy thr meegotouch folder from your pc to /usr/share/themes/cyan_v1.4/ directly. It will as if you want to replace files just click yes to all. It'll then work.

I had some problems with the darker theme, or the clock UI MOD more specific, where the clock would crash immediately, yes even with the latest version.

So now im having problems with some persistent leftover images from the theme.

I still have some images left from the Darker theme that i cannot get fixed in any way, are the graphics cached somewhere or how does the theme-daemon work?

Attachment 24791

I have (at least i think so) replaced all images in /usr/share/themes/blanco/ with a backup, i do not have any other theme in /usr/share/themes/, so do you have any ideas of where the faulty image are stored?

Larksyrm

Re: F.D.B. (Faster, Darker, Better) Themes v5.2 (12/1/12)

Hi

i just tried F.D.B. 5.2 red

in the red theme the clock closes after a fraction of a second and i'm unable to start a phonecall

after reverting i can call again and the clock stays open, but it looks like this
http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/319...0129045134.png
the red smudge is the clock graphics replaced by red squares, turning around

edit:
i found that in /usr/share/themes/base/meegotouch/clock/style/
there was only a clock.css.fdb, but no clock.css or clock.css.orig

copied N9 FDB Themes 5.2\original\clock.css now the clock looks normal, but it closes after a fraction of a second

btw, forgot to mention, i had to re-enter my account password after installing as well as after reverting

Hi F2thaK, as i said, i have replaced all images to original,
this is what the actual image looks like;

scp developer@192.168.1.72:/usr/share/th...background.png blarf.png
Attachment 24794

So there must be some other problem, i have also replaced the XML as well.

Any other ideas?

Re: F.D.B. (Faster, Darker, Better) Themes v5.2 (12/1/12)

It is caching the old themed image somewhere but i cant figure out where. I copied the "clock-background.png" to "clock-background-not****edup.png" and changed the css to use "clock-background-not****edup" instead and it works great.

I'm also having the problem with the emoticons. I did add the .emoticonthemecache containing the backup emoticons in /home/user/ and reboot but still emoijs show up as red squares in messages. Have I done something wrong when reverting to blanco theme with themechanger? Blanco is the default theme correct?

One thing I've noticed is that as long as I've had the problem with the emoticons the oplogo mod in N9 Quick Tweak has stopped working. The mod changes parameters in /usr/share/themes/base/... and that does not seem to affect my unit anymore! If I want to change the size of the oplogo I now have to do it under /usr/share/themes/blanco/...

Maybe it is relevant, I don't know...
