something like "quit on minimize"

i like the current behaviour.. Almost at all times I want whatsup to be minimized but not to be shown in open apps view.
U can always exit using option from the menu.

Please don't state the obvious, there is a reason for making the request.

I did not ask for your opinion :confused:

It was a request - directed to the developer, for his opinion/consideration

I did not state I like/dislike the existing way. That would be an "opinion". There is a difference.

^ You can create a desktop or you can type pkill whatsup.... I use my own icon whatsup killer :)

There is a bitbucket bugtracker for direct request, donation links for bitcoin and paypal too. See links in openrepos whatsup. Type in your proposal, get a short feedback from developer - and no discussion her.
Thanks to cepi for continuation in supporting of real existing harmattan phones instead of Nokia/Microsoft. The result of Microsoft support have seen last week on my old Nokia 6700.RM 470 - in Opera Store.

Yes. I see this too. 1.1.4 seems to close [-]whenever[/-] sometimes when I leave wifi coverage and switch to 3G.

Edit: It doesn't happen every time.

daviss 2015-02-02 08:43

Downgraded to 1.1.3..so far no crashes..will report back later..

v1.1.3 still crash when switches connection i suspect..

Hi ,

I am wondering how whatsup connects to the servers differently compared to android client. I am on my office wifi, and whatsup cannot connect, but my colleagues androids and iphones seem to connect ok.

I can access websites , email, Facebook etc without any issues when on the office wifi.

Re: Whatsup - Harmattan client

I made a lot of changes in 1.1.4. Next version will revert this, bacause connection issues. But I can't do it this week due to personal issues.
Please be patient.

@nokiac: please send me log files to check this problem.

It seems switching from wifi to 3G may have been a coincidence the two times it happened this weekend.

This morning it is very bad. Whatsup seems to close within about 2 minutes after being opened.

The logs all end the same:
Code:

Checking processes... not working
IN: 0 - OUT: 0 - READ: 0
Reading data...
INCOMING:
<stream:error>
<ack>
</ack>
</stream:error>

Checking processes... not working
IN: 0 - OUT: 0 - READ: 0
Reading data...
There was an IO error: Connection closed by server.
Connection closed.
Stopping timers.
Freeing up the connection.
Freeing up the socket.
Retry the connection in 10 seconds.
Connection status: disconnected
Disconnection done

Edit: after restarting Whatsup about 10 times in a four hour period, it seems to have stabilized now and hasn't closed in just over an hour.

Realized before all these happened, i did activate gmail auto sync interval, previously was manual..now that I've disable it,whatsup back to normal..hope this helps..

That may just be a coincidence. My gmail sync interval is 'Always up-to-date' and I haven't changed it recently. Sometimes Whatsup exits after 2 minutes, other times it runs for more than 8 hours. So far I haven't seen a pattern.

Cepi has written that he knows what the issue is. Let's wait to see if there's an improvement in 1.1.5.

Re: Whatsup - Harmattan client

It's hard to find this problem. Yesterday I opended whatsup from terminal and didn't close all day. Today it crashes, so it sucks.
If someone want to help please open whatsup from terninal:

develsh (this is to gain access to contacts database)
/opt/whatsup/bin/whatsup

This way I can check if it's a seg fault or bus error

Do you know how to replace binary?

Please check if seg fault persists

With new binary whatsup no longer crashes using wlan.
https://bitbucket.org/CepiPerez/what...hen-using-wifi
However, it never connects. It keeps oscillating between "Disconnected" and "Connecting". 3G is fine.

I don't have this problem with the new binary.
I have switched between 3G and wifi many times.

1.Backup ori
2.use root to copy cepi's binary into /opt/whatsup/bin then chmod 777 to it preferably
3.back to id:user then develsh
4.run:
/opt/whatsup/bin/<cepi's binary>

Thanks
