This is not true. There is some issue with compiling libxml2 againist latest zlib (ending with bootloop). However libxml2 is using latest zlib because of dynamic loading ;)
And to be not so simple ... latest zlib needs patched libxml2 :D

Could you please upload your syslog to check if there is something suspicious?

Did you try to remove the pairing from the car radio, not from n900?

I've done all that.. For last hour and everything updated I see I have thumb repos installed but how do I know if I'm running thumb? I can't see anything different apart from the phone being faster..
