@quailstorm - never, ever use FAM or apt-get for system upgrades unless you know what you are doing. And even if you know. That's been repeated hundreds of times. I don't know how exactly did you manage to break your system, but I can assure you that libxml2 and zlib1g(from thumb repo) work perfectly fine.

Could you issue "apt-get update" and give me the output from "apt-get upgrade" afterwards. Press N when apt-get upgrade ask you to continue.

P.S. make sure you don't have cssu-devel repo enabled.

By HAM did not go, want to connect to a computer and nokia pc-suite.

I think hacking away that stupid pc suite string to say, "please look at the problems tab" will save CSSU developers lots of time.

Maybe, but some people still won't check it.

Take my current project updating a software library, half the features used were depreciated when it was written, over 4 years ago, yet the original devs neglected to read the docs.

I'm on 7.2thumb0 and both Foreca and FM Transmitter widgets work fine for me.

Well goodbye all its been a fun ride but my last n900 just died installed thumb update last night after the update came through everything was running great until today it turned off and now it won't turn on at all no matter how many times I try.

Worst thing is I have no USB port I charge the phone with a Nokia c3 so I'm pretty much stuffed cant reflash.
