Refunds are being doled out. The tablets that will be shipped, I recall "soon" being used, not February - although I might be wrong on that.

Yes, they used the word soon. But the last word in the sentence was February.

I got the following response from larstiq when asking for a timeframe for the IGG-Backers on TJC:

Quote:

@seiichiro0185 A new blog post will go up next week, if not earlier (MWC etc). We're working on a survey for IGG backers. I believe we'll have that out in a matter of weeks but I'm loathe to commit to a number, unforeseen issues/interrupts keep popping up. I'm doing my best to have you see material progress in March.
So hopefully we'll get some more info next week....

another delay, blog post. Told you last week. We are always waiting for a blog post and delay.

Survey? So Jolla is backing from what they said about refund?

If I recall correctly they said in the FAQ on the last blog post one could choose between refund or donating the money to Jolla, and if you are in the lucky 540 you could also back out from getting the tablet, so I assume he is refering to that.

Yes, it's good buissniess to give these options to backers and I hope it's true. It's bad buissniess to let supporter wait for years and show little to no progress.

Re: The Future of Jolla's Tablet

1. Tablet
2. Refund
3. Donation

What is the right answer for you?

Jolla Tablet from China

Status: Out for Delivery!

Im actually a little bit excited. I even brought my Lastucase into work so finally they can pair up. Im still not entirely sure what will be arriving as far as hardware and also software. I m also not sure how much tax I will have to pay, but now I have come so far I will be paying it what ever it is, Im expecting £30-£50.

Today is going to be fun, but Im not sure how the weekend will pan out as my Girlfriend also ordered an original Jolla tablet, and she is not too impressed that I may be getting one today. Her passing comment this morning was " I think you are confusing me with someone who gives a f****" " I know shes lying though as she loves Tech

Edit: I do feel a little sad as I can imagine what it would be like if everyone who order a Tablet was getting one. - This board would be buzzing!

Man, give it to her and move on to something else. It will be a great ROI ;)

My investment with this Lady is already VERY high, and its justice as she got her N900 TWO WHOLE months before My contract ended and I could get mine.

Tablet from china

Its only b**** arrived, and its a proper Jolla Tablet with Sailfish any EVERYTHING - updating now. . I just signed for it, no extra taxes or any other payments?

It does have a beautiful screen, its proper pucker (teh real thing)

Im so excited, but feel a little bad as Im one of the very few who will have one. Everyone who ordered one should get one. I feel even more annoyed now, that Jolla blew the project out of the water

Edit: I have been told that DHL might just send the bill direct to the company

Re: The Future of Jolla's Tablet

I have similar feelings about the whole thing, BUT hopefully there will be community ports for tablets from other vendors and with the other efforts to bring Android compatibility in too, everyone who wants a Sailfish tablet (with full functionality) can have one.

Got an email from DHL. The tablet is shipped from Hong Kong.
I am an IGG backer, who had paid VAT in September.

Actually they told us in October they didn't have the parts for the final wave and they would have to acquire them before the final wave could be manufactured (and in the worst case adapt the hardware design for new parts). In hardware business it is expensive to secure parts. Hardware companies still need to keep the costs of the product in a budget.

That's easy. You don't sell the whole stock but keep some of them as spare devices for handling warranty cases. My guess is that Jolla got 600 tablets and is keeping 10% of those as spare devices: 540 (90%) + 60 (10%) = 600.

Waaait, what?
Please clarify, you did not order an extra tablet from taobao but have gotten notice from the original IGG Campaign first wave shipment stalled in September?
That would be great news.

I am surprised as well. I had finished payment in September. The status was "on hold" since then. But last week it changed to "in picking". The status has not changed after that. But I have a tracking number now from DHL. Will keep you guys updated

Could be à Box with à survey, asking if you want a tablet or refund.

Honestly i do not care about Jolla Blog posts if the next communication i get from Jolla would simply be an invite to pay tax or where to issue refund . 'Nuff empty talk for me

If this is not also turbinenreiter or verydeep, we have a third person confirming DHL notice!

Edit, AkuArttu answered and he did not comment on Jolla Blog.

So we have 3 confirmations so far.. I just received a notification from DHL that the package has been cleared by customs at Leipzig :)

AkuArttu wrote he knows of two finnish guys.
Possibly including him and concluding you verydeep and turbinenreiter are german, it seem to be at least four, maybe five if exluding him from the two finns.

But it looks like not everyone who payed taxes got dhl notice.
At least there is @ejjoman asking AkuArttu for details because he got no notice.

Re: The Future of Jolla's Tablet

Just curious:

@verydeep and others - which version of the tablet did you preorder/get?

IIRC, the ones that were not delivered even though they had VAT paid for were 32GB. At least most of them.

Could this be the reason why @ejjoman and others were excluded? Maybe there are only 32GB versions being sent out?

I hope I am wrong, though, for my own sake :)
