Re: [feedback request]shortcutd
Remember the bug tracker:
search and report. It's the "official" place for reporting bugs and filing feature requests. It's easier to spot (and remember) them from there than this forum thread :) Quote:

Does not work with camera button. |
Re: [feedback request]shortcutd
Don't hate me for this, but wouldn't it make sense to merge shortcutd and tweakr? The less similar apps the better, even if both apps are great, which these two are!

Re: [feedback request]shortcutd
What does tweaker with the camera button?
I can't see any shared characteristics. Could you explain this? As far as I know: Tweaker is for modding. ShortCudD for usability. :) I don't want to install a big software package when a small and clever application can do the same job. |
Re: [feedback request]shortcutd
Tweakr also has powerbutton functions, which imo is the same thing as using camera button functions. I don't share your view on tweakr being for modding any more than shortcutd to be honest. Tweakr has just expanded the scope a bit more.

Re: [feedback request]shortcutd
?! :D
Tweakr only modifies the Setting for the Power Button. But it doesn't install a daemon and add a additional function to a not used Button. Sorry, these are total different things. :) The Menu for the Power Button was there before. ShortCutD doesn't modify a existing function, it adds a own function. Tweakr couldn't do the same job without installing the same daemon like ShortCutD does. So, why not install it from a seperate package? |
Re: [feedback request]shortcutd
Cause setting button functions for camera button or power button seems like similar tasks to me. So why not group stuff like this up. Also camera button had uses set to it already, those are just enable for larger/different kind of use. I still don't understand what the difference is between assigning tasks for the two buttons. It would be the same thing if you assigned actions for the backspace key for example? I'd have this button also inside the application that lets you define what each button does.

But as the programs are under GPL you are of course free to combine these under your own project as you see fit... alternatively, providing a patch to accomplish this could give you a whole new edge in this discussion as it would save us the work that might feel unnecessary ;) |
Re: [feedback request]shortcutd
I just found shortcutd today, from another thread (http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p=575706&postcount=6), liked it alot, but got me wanting more, so I made a feature request, which actually has many of the features discussed in this thread kind of combined when I later read this. TFR:

Yes, I've got the same Idea in the beginning of this year. Good to see someone else comming up with such a suggestion. Your Idea is more than I want, but that shouldn't be a problem for me. http://www.en.kolobok.us/smiles/icq/good.gif hqh, one of the two programmer of shortcutd wrote that it could be worth to implement this if enought people find it useful. So with a second simmilar suggestion I hope the chance for a implementation gone up! http://www.en.kolobok.us/smiles/icq/dance.gif |
