Aren't you glad Nokia decided to marry that ugly Microsoft handset hag?
http://www.zdnet.com/blog/mobile-new...e-updates/1067 Customers will loooooooove this new relationship, alright. :P heheh |
Re: N950 with MeeGo this year, but who trusts Nokia anymore?
to try android i got my self a htc hd2 and flashed nand with cyanogenmod 7 (gingerbread?), boy tell you what, i like it. Wish maemo was up to the par (no not apps) just the system is fluid. no reboot needed to make it snappier after two days of use and also use it with one hand like a traditional phone.

Nothing I have seen from Maemo / Meego even comes close, and this is still Froyo not Gingerbread. |
Re: N950 with MeeGo this year, but who trusts Nokia anymore?
Thanks but I won`t buy it thank you very much.I don`t wanna repeat myself:
1) get the new N950.....yahoo, all excited 2) wait for 2-3 months until I get any proper software for it 3) What? No gps software? Wait for another 6 months for Sygic or any other company to create one for it. 4)....and the story goes on......... Android seems a really nice alternative to my N900 (Samsung S 2).Great hardware, all the software I need ( all emulators are there, from mame to PSX), GPS ...check, logmein....check, flash 10.1....check, constant operating system updates....check.What else do we need? |
Re: N950 with MeeGo this year, but who trusts Nokia anymore?
I might buy the MeeGo device if Nokia's board is replaced and Elop fired.
Other than that, either Android or WebOS. |

1 gps is agps so if you hike or go camping or travel outside of cell coverage it is useless 2 no video out. 3 probably no netflix or hulu since it comes with android 2.3 which doesnt meet their drm needs( not in 2.3.3 either currently only honeycomb ) 4 constant os updates depends on carrier and manufacturer samsung vibrant and galaxy just got 2.2 so that is over 9 months after it was released. Not knocking android at all as it is nice, just doesn't suit my need, and I would say that the N900 has had 3 updates in a year, the galaxy or vibrant has only had 1 in 9 months since it's release... |
Re: N950 with MeeGo this year, but who trusts Nokia anymore?
Also the N950 is going to be a Maemo6/harmattan device not a meego proper device, however we are supposed to know if it can become a meego proper device in the future at launch time of course if this is supported or not is still up in the air I guess. ( this is just information from a nokia person I think, posting over at meego forum )
