Yup. I didn't fix that, just made it less likely to happen by shortening the date. I'll look into what to do sooner or later...

Can you please tell me exactly what the message is (in full)?

Also, are you on PR1.2? That is now a requirement for using Facebrick, as I need some of the stuff it offers.

I'm liking the visual change, the blue names breaks up the posts nicely. Portrait mode works like a treat aswell.
Good work woot
Thanks
Do you have a roadmap for what features you are going to be working on next?

There is a roadmap, but it's not in strict order. I'm also waiting for brik to ramp up her work a little before I want to talk about it too much - as a lot of it is going to be depending on her.

There is definitely a lot to come, though, and I hope that we'll have her first addition soon. :)

Any chance of Supporting
Name1 > Name2
Comment left on Name2's wall by Name 1

which is the new style that facebook uses?

Also, when you click on a comment to send a replay, it goes blue, but when you hit the back button it is still blue, any way to deactivate the blueness persisting?

P.S. Amazing App

Hi w00t.

When I try to comment on a status, I'm getting the message:

'Error adding comment: 200 (The user hasn't authorized the application to perform this action)'

I obviously can read the statuses and comments okay. When I check the 'Nokia N900' application on Facebook, all three 'Additional Permissions' are set, (Access my News Feed & Wall, Access my data when I'm not using the application and Publish recent activity (one line stories) to my Wall).

Any ideas?

Cheers,
Mark.

Try writing a post on your wall first. This is a known bug. I really should look into it soon.

had it working on PR1.1 and also on PR1.2 but when I messed with some packages cleaning 0.4 version stopped working for me. I can remove and install but the application silently crashes when launching before even reaching the UI. Any ideas?

Open x terminal, run:

run-standalone.sh facebrick

Tell me what it outputs.

facebrick: error while loading shared libraries: libqfacebookconnect.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

---------------

Need to add that this is currently the only app I have that doesn't work. Even FB widget is working fine.

Your copy of extras-devel is likely out of date, as I fixed this this morning. From a terminal:

sudo gainroot
apt-get update
apt-get upgrade

(note that you should check the packages listed by the last step fairly carefully before pressing 'Y' - if you see too many there that you don't recognise, *stop*, as you may damage something.)

Alternatively, the 'safe' route is to wait a while and see if an update pops up.

Thanks! That did the trick! :) And thank you for the great app - it needs a Widget!

Re: My Facebook client for the n900

Hmm, works fine here, latest from Extras-Devel:Facebrick 0.4, libqfacebook 0.1.1-5 oficial PR 1.2

Since the app doesn't have many options try to Sync/Logout/Login first and try again ?

I have same problem. If I send short update without scandinavian characters it works fine.

Re: My Facebook client for the n900

OK, I had this working on PR1.1, I flashed to 1.2 and didn't backup the apps as I wanted a nice fresh start. When I installed facebrick I had the issue mentioned before with it crashing out before getting to the UI because of the libqfacebook issue. I used the fixes mentioned (remove, update, reinstall and apt-get update) now it starts and shows me the update box but crashes out with a segmentaion fault. Any ideas? I checked the libqfacebook version and Its version 0.1.1-5 (although it does also list all the previous versions). I could post the output when running from terminal if you like but it is huge!

Ensure you have gdb installed, then open a terminal, and run these commands:
gdb facebrick
r

It should start up. Crash it however you need to, then your terminal should be back at a prompt. Run:
bt full

Give me that output please. :)

Ugh. That's not very helpful.

Are you doing anything specific to cause a crash?

mornage 2010-06-01 11:46

Re: My Facebook client for the n900

Nope, nothing else is running, launching facebrick normally. I get the update box and wait and then it just crashes back to desktop. When run from terminal it seems to be downloading status updates then gets the segmentation fault and crashes out!

w00t 2010-06-01 11:48

Re: My Facebook client for the n900

Okay, let's try a different approach. Can you copy all the output from the terminal, drop it in a mail to me (viroteck@viroteck.net) and send it off please?

Can we expect a relatively stable version of this application soon? In extras-testing, lets say.

@shanrizvi While you are right not to trust applications still in Development, I don't know why w00t hasn't sought to promote this application to Extras. I haven't had any stability problems at all with Facebrick so I would suggest you take the risk and give it a go :)

w00t 2010-06-05 15:14

Re: My Facebook client for the n900

I haven't promoted it because I want to wait until I consider it reasonably feature-complete. That will probably mean a few more minor releases in -devel first, while things like notifications, messaging, and some other bits and pieces are added.

shanrizvi 2010-06-06 12:44

Re: My Facebook client for the n900

Is there an easy way to install it without adding the extras-devel repos? And do you have a timeline in mind regarding the first complete version of the app?
