No, we had to wait months for PR1.1, we got PR1.2 before the rest of the world.
IIRC we got PR1.1 and PR1.2 rolled together in one update.
Hopefully we will get PR1.4 first.

Nope, it's probably an internal application.

Re: PR 1.3 is live now! (Released 25 October 2010)

Update showed up for me on the morning of the 25th in Connecticut, USA. Just updated now (evening of the 26th), wanted to wait and see if others had problems.

The standard application manager wanted me to connect the cable and use the PC Suite thing. After reading this thread, I used faster application manager (fappman, lol) instead and was able to do it OTA, using wifi (I'm on AT&T and didn't want to wait for my 2.5G connection to finish the download)

I had 72MB of rootfs free, now have 26MB.

Install just finished, haven't done anything yet to see the difference.

Hopefully this info is helpful for others, it would have been helpful for me.

Re: PR 1.3 is live now! (Released 25 October 2010)

^^Check your FW version in Settings > About Product
Should say 20.xx, etc.

Here's my update story, to hopefully allay fears a little bit..
I had 1.2 and my only conflicting packages were the modified hildon desktop (smoother scrolling) and I think healthcheck (like others).

Thanks to Saturn, I unpinned the modded desktop ( http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...&postcount=231 ) and proceeded to install via wifi (in the US btw.) I did it with fappman and it took ~20-30 minutes total to download and install all. It didn't ask me to reboot and I checked the settings, which said 10.xx still. Rebooted and it came up with 20.xx.

As far as oc'ing, I had multiboot with not only titan's kernel but nitroid as well. Still booted up to the option screen like normal and I assume Android is working fine (trying out the new maemo before that.) OC'ing is steady at 750mhz now and phone seems to be running just fine.

Apps- It didn't delete any of my apps. Everything is still right there just as it was before the update. My settings were untouched too as swappolube still had all the current values stored in there. So basically nothing surface-wise happened at all. All widgets are up and everything is good.

Changes- Haven't noticed much yet. Email is a tad quicker. Phone seems maybe just a tad more responsive. I personally didn't notice portrait to landscape transition to be any quicker than before. Browser seems a tad quicker in rendering and all that.

Problems- none so far. Hopefully it stays that way. All my stuff seems to be untouched so I'm pretty happy. Can't wait now for the apps to roll it with the QT framework. Wondering as well if the promised dualboot feature is in this update.

Re: PR 1.3 is live now! (Released 25 October 2010)

Well I noticed something quite strange when I began to prepare my phone for the update:

1. I removed kernel related applications like fCamera
2. I removed the Titan kernel / restored the Nokia one on the phone itself, after the reboot I had suddenly the LATEST FIRMWARE automatically installed oO
3. I reinstalled the Titan kernel after I noticed that the phone magically updated itself and so far everything seems to be working
(No I didn't reflashed it)

It shows as version: 20.2010.36-2
Uname -r displays: 2.6.28.10power37

So I guess everything is fine?

HI guys, i’m getting conflict with application packages: libgles1 -sgx-img (0.20091104.34+0m5) it won’t let me update?

Any ideas or support on how to find out which application this package relates to?

I've tried sudo gainroot > apt-get remove libgles1-sgx-img, and it just brought up a load of results but i don't know what it means?

i am a noob on all things n900.

thanks,

EDIT: After reading through some posts i tried the following in xterm...

/home/user # apt-cache rdepends libgles1-sgx-img
libgles1-sgx-img
Reverse Depends:
libgles1
nehegles
brainparty
libgles1
libgles1

The only app that i can identify from this list is Brainparty, however i had deleted this before running this command in xterm. Does that mean that there are still uninstalled packages for this app? Also any advice on how to remove the other ones?

Thanks,

Hi All.

I'm a N900 Vodafone contract user in UK. I STILL haven't seen the update alert yet on my screen. Any ideas why? I have also manually refreshed/updated the catalogues but the Maemo update is not showing up.

(I have checked and can confirm that the maemo and nokia catalogues ARE enabled in the repositories too!) ;)

Just seems a little odd, as I got the previous two updates at same time as everyone else and used OTA method without any issues.

Can anyone confirm what the Ovi repository settings are on their PR1.3 device? For me the web address is https://downloads.maemo.nokia.com/fremantle1.2/ovi, which sounds wrong - should it not contain 1.3?

The entry for maemo.org did correctly change to fremantle-1.3 in the Distribution field.

Plenty of others - and there was the same issues when updating to PR1.2.

Anyway, you say:

Re: PR 1.3 is live now! (Released 25 October 2010)

Sorry - didn't browse this whole thread but I hope that this will answer some problems others out there may have.

I had installed glTron, nehegles and some Python Qt stuff earlier to my N900. I tried to update and device told me to use USB which was not what I wanted - update would be enough instead of "clean install".

Here's what I did:

1. (took backup here - never hurts to take one)
2. rootsh apt-get remove nehegles
3. rootsh apt-get remove gltron
4. rootsh apt-get remove libgles1-sgx-img
5. rootsh apt-get remove libqt4-test

After these "clashing packages" were removed (with possible dependencies) installation via SW manager update was possible and a success.

Really hope that this helps :)

Hi Everyone!
I haven't read all of the threads, but when I installed PR1.3 yesterday and the Transmission app is missing , not available any more. It's been removed or what? Is there any idea?
Thanks

E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt-get -f install' with no packages (or specify a solution).

Does this mean it has removed the dependencie?

thanks,

I haven't read all of the threads, but when I installed PR1.3 yesterday and the Transmission app is missing , not available any more. It's been removed or what? Is there any idea?
Thanks

Hi all.

Since updating everything is "fresh" except my contacts and messages.

Nothing wrong there, but the appinstaller is broke in the way that the repositories don't work no more.
It says: "Temporary failure resolving 'repository.maemo.org'"

Anybody know...?

i removed everything related to my libgled-conflict, but it still didnt work

then i updated via faster appmanager, and it worked flawlessly even though the regular appmanager wouldnt let me update and asked me to use NSU.

so everyone, try faster appmanager!

Hi!
Should I Instal the whole PR1.3 again or only Transmission app? If only Transmission, than where can I find this app?
(Sorry, but I am just a simple user:confused:)
Thanks!

^^Faster App Manager (if you have it, and you might wanna get that too) or regular Application Manager if you have that repository enabled.

I read somewhere that the Nokia Music Store is supported with this update? Where is it? Is there no app for it or do just go to the website?

Something I have noticed the following file RX-51_2009SE_20.2010.36-2_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin from http://tablets-dev.nokia.com/nokia_N900.php Is 191mb and the update over the air is around 83mb hmmm I suspect that to dual boot Maemo and Meego then you will have to flash the internet tablet using the flasher or terminal in Linux and oh yeah something I found out and I was in a for an underrated shock, I always thought the n900 was to power user friendly turns out its really a developers internet tablet and Nokia can keep playing the we don't support Meego officially for the N900 and then we do shenanigans, let me just clear this up Its true they don't support Meego officially for the N900 but they do support if when developers are involved as I don't know if you know this but the next internet tablet from Nokia will be running Meego and I also suspect the reason for this dual boot option is for developers to sort out all the kinks in the Linux OS, hence they delayed the internet tablet&Phones running Meego till next year, I've said it once and I'll say it again its a developers internet tablet.

That's the difference between an incremental update, and a full data set. The update doesn't need to replace every single file on the system, so anything that's unchanged is left out.

No - it looks like it's already done the PR1.3 update, despite some installed apps still requiring PR1.2 packages. Looks like apt-get is rather messed up for this.

Try doing "dpkg -r libgles1-sgx-img" instead - that should report the individual packages which prevent uninstallation. Repeating the process for those should eventually allow you to uninstall the package.

Okay that's fine it just sometimes when I update over the air certain update changes are not made compared to when I flash the n900 directly and I seem to get less errors doing it myself and the over the air updating procedure takes for ever and I like to tweak all day:D

Ah well you should of uninstalled the conflicting packages before hand using the command apt-get remove then update :)

Will their be a vanilla version for pr 1.3 or is it fine to flash eMMC with pr 1.2 version?
