Re: [REQUEST] Community purchase plan for the Nokia N9

I am including $50 for shipping as a standard fee, I dont want to put money on it because it is a bit expensive here, I would use your FeDeX account, not sure if where I live I have a Fedex, but I think there are other couriers that can make the shipment to Fedex and Fedex do the wordwide shipment.

Options, options, I can waranty that I will give you back the remaining money in case shipping is less.

Made In China. Nokia N9 64GB. White barcode label.

says "Nokia N9 Black 64GB(StarHub)" atop the IMEI barcode.

Re: [REQUEST] Community purchase plan for the Nokia N9

gerbick you can remove me from your list. my black 64 GB baby arrived today (many thanks again). :D

It arrived from whymobile.com today in Singapore, so they are legit. I ordered it Sunday. Here is the story on buying from them for US peeps:

- $842 US total, includes shipping to the US, paypal fee, and insurance.

- it is the black version even though the 64 GB entry on the site doesn't say (I ordered a second from Negri to be safe because I wasn't sure I would receive black).

- whymobile.com declared the full value for insurance purposes. As A US resident I paid no customs fees.

- the phone is made in china. it is branded with the starhub logo on the lock screen. the box has a white barcode label.

- it does not come with a US power adapter (apparently the Negri one does according to other reports)

- whymobile.com's return policy is vague, however in their mission statement they describe the general terms. you need to call.

- they also don't seem to have contact info besides a phone number if you have order issues. they are a brick and mortar in singapore.

any other questions let me know. when the Negri one shows up I'll confirm how that went too (paid a little less for that one $777 US total for the 64 GB with the coupon code).

I am talking with the seller to see if I can get a better deal for multiple (and future) purchases, so long he has agreed to sell me the 16GB variation for less.

$620 plus shipping his last offer.

anyone gonna take this?
I will leave the offer until tomorrow, then I will offer this one to my Barbados friend.

edit: my bad, it is $620 plus shipping

@dcastrog
Sorry if it seems to be stepping on your toes but with an October 2011 join date, can you provide an ebay or amazon account for trust purposes? I'm not interested personally but it could allay some fears about someone running with money (even with Paypal.)

He wont get it in white, he just told me. And the 64 GB versions also seem unlikely, unless it is with Telcel which will release them in the second week of november.

No I just meant to check your reliability on another reputable site with feedback. Not trying to hamstring you but just trying to help others as well.
If legit, I applaud you for helping the community. You guys trying to get your hands on these for others is great.

Re: [REQUEST] Community purchase plan for the Nokia N9

I was in the same place, came here looking for help to get the N9, I just got lucky and found a guy who sold me one here in mexico at incredible price, so I tought I could help those who where willing to help me without further interest.

That said, I can present myself again: Im a nokia enthusiast, my full name is David Emmanuel Castro Guerrero, and have been at Nokia events, the most important was the Nokia Developer Summit 09 in Monte Carlo where I won that year Hackathon along with Plusmo (developers).

Im aslo a blogger at gadgetized.net and a medic at my hometown. :)

edit: that ebay account does have feedback. I never sell things on there, but once when I sold an Ultra Micro PC to someone in the USA for $750

Mind you, I know my opinion means little, especially for an expensive device; however dcastrog has shown himself trustworthy in my humble opinion.

Just thought I'd put it out there.

.

- FYI (and others), those in Asia are all 'Made in China'
- 64GB for Asia region so far is black only
- Price in Spore for 64GB is SG899 (USD721), means around USD100 for shipping + insurance

So, I suppose you all are ordering from online companies or with help from gerbick & dcastrog. So, dont need us to help anymore :p
Same info as the others, 64GB 2nd batch arriving in 1 or 2 weeks time to Malaysia.

@gerbick what pattern are you trying to confirm? Blue sticker for Finland, white for China?

That and if a dealer is listed, does that mean that it's also has some form of branding.

My 16gb Black Chinese N9 has no dealer listed, no marking with a white label. I've yet to open the one from Dubai - although three others have and no marking to their knowledge... but none of theirs have a dealer listed. Mine does - it was sourced differently - it's a blue label, made in Finland and actually has a dealer listed.

Has anyone tried (with success) this merchant mentioned earlier in the thread?

http://www.electron-world.com/store/...at=1103&page=1

Just curious, their price is pretty reasonable, but coming from Australia (edit New Zealand) the shipping might be crazy.

Just a note about the WiFi Hotspot that comes included on the phone. It works perfectly with the N950 here in Canada, so it might be something weird with the N9's hardware? Or maybe blocked by your data provider?

And I'm still hoping gerbick can get me a better price than dcastrog... I have an N950, so I'm not desperate, but... I'm a little impatient... ;)

Maybe qole waiting for the white N9. Actually send direct is cheaper - USD 765, to US, not including paypal fees & customs tax. To Canada, slightly more, around USD 785.

Almost there. I found Magenta and Black this week for a real decent price. Cyan is the new one that's eluding me - right alongside 64gb versions.

For all... Mobilecity is selling via Amazon.com now...

Paypal disputes can go on for a rather long time. I'm not a fan of going that route sometimes.

Do they have a visible profile or reseller account?

I agree everything looks fishy from the website where they don't bother to get the items correct to the hotmail email address that don't match the front page and (contact us page).

The best part is their T&C that is basically ripped from Negri Electronics. They changed the first part but neglected to read the whole document and left Negri electronics in there.

Somewhere in TMO someone was pretending to have bought an N9 from Cancom UK. That post has since been deleted. This is definitely a scam.

I hear you. I think earlier in the thread there are a few good experiences. Check out the other thread as well:

Re: [REQUEST] Community purchase plan for the Nokia N9

Negri Electronics checks out clean. I got my N9 in a small package. Along with the original phone packing, Negri also thoughtfully included a pin connector for US pins - probably because they know that this device wasn't meant to be normally sold in the US market.
They also included a pink breast cancer awareness wrist band, but that's not relevant to this thread.
Package was completely intact, security seal was still on. It arrived in time and customer service was helpful.

The original phone packaging also includes a silicone casing - provided by Nokia. Nice.

The phone is as good as I had hoped it would be... and I finally have it.

Thank you!

This is just the kind of confidence feedback I needed. My order has now been place. Cannot wait to get my hands on the blue one! Probably the last Nokia I will buy... although I may re-buy a N95 one day - just for kicks.
