Mitakuuluu 0.1-26 works fine, even reports a received message faster - on the lock screen - then whatsapp on WP. :D

if you have a problem do this as root

[root@localhost nemo]# chmod 0777 .whatsapp

fixed it for me!

Any changes made in the settings menu are reset back to default each time I quit and relaunch Mitäkuuluu. Any way to avoid this?

that solved the problem of creating a log. now i just need to get it to register again. i'll try it in the afternoon and if i manage to register will send the log file.
as solbrit reported if you quit mitakuuluu or restart your phone it sometimes forgets that you have registered and asks you to register again.

I cannot receive messages sent by one(?) of my contacts. (Hard to tell if some of my other contacts don't reach me..)
I have had this problem atleast with two latest versions up to .-26.
Did not have the problem in the .-22 -version.
The other end has latest windows phone with latest whatsapp installed (2.11.356). I have the Naamankajärvi Sailfish..
Does anyone else have similar problems?

Re: [v0.1-26] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

send me log file and specify time when message was send but not received

Maybe not related but, I had a bit similar problem..

Did not get any messages from one of my contacts and all messages I sent were only reported to be delivered up to Whatsapp server not up to contact even though he did receive them.

Turned out that I had accidentally blocked him, after removing blockage, everything worked normally again. :o

Thats it! Thanks.
Apparently I had blocked him accidentally. Unblocking required Mitäkuuluu restart..

Blocking contacts is too easy from the drop down menu :)

Re: [v0.1-26] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

Hi guys, i've installed this morning last 1-26 and it's working, so 've to say to you Coderus you made a really great job! and i'm goingo to donate soon, you deserve it!

That said, i'd like to know why is impossile to put a pic as avatar: when i go in settings > account and tap on the avatar square, i can chose a pic from the gallery but nothing else happen because window come back to the account page without adding nothing. This is not a great problem at all, just i'd like to understand..

Moreover, i can't save other peolple's avatar not even tapping on the top-right downloading simbol.

Other then that, few question if you all guys will be pleased ti help/suggest me:

1 - what program do you suggest me to record vocal messages to send it via Mitakuuluu?

2 - are you using the native video recorder in Jolla camera app in order to record a video to send ?

3 - have I to install some program in order to look at video/ listen voice incoming messages ? if yes, some suggestion please!

I'm sorry if my questions seems stupid but i'll appreciate a lot a little help from the community!

Thanks a lot

Coderus, may I suggest that the order of the items on the drop down menu are changed to prevent accidental blocking of contacts...

In order up towards down:

Block
Remove all messages
Load old conversation
Profile
Send media

So that most likely used functions are the easiest to reach.

Can i make some more suggestions?

Block --> only available at profile page
Remove all messages --> only available at profile page
Profile --> swipe from right to left

so that only:
Load old conversation
Send media
are left in the pulley menue

Uh, this is even nicier! If you mean "swipe from right to left" of course, as of now "swipe [to the] right" is used to go back and should stay that way.

Greetings. My device was reflashed on service and I had to reinstall everything. I'm having problems with Mitäkuuluu:
*Phonebook not syncing nor can I add contacts manually.
*I've been seeing as online on a friends whatsapp, but messages are not coming through even if whatsapp on friends device reports it's delivered.

I didn't notice anyone posting about syncing problems after last update of Mitäkuuluu.

Same problem then. Did you "chmod +x" those folders/files? If yes, what folders/files?

i did:
chmod -R 777 .whatsapp
that will open it up for you

if you want you can also do:
chown -R nemo .whatsapp
chgrp -R nemo .whatsapp

that will, i think, solve the problem without modifying any permissions

I have done this but still settings are in default values after mitakuuluu restart. Don't know if these log lines are related:

I terminated the employment contract of one admin after I saw him setting system folders world writeable.

Mitäkuuluu is executed with User=nemo Group=privileged privileges and permission set u=rwx,g=rx,o=rx is correct for .whatsapp directory. Since v0.1-25 that directory has had group privileged and it's owned by nemo as earlier.

Files and directories under .whatsapp shall be writable by nemo user only and owned by nemo. Group differs and can be nemo or privileged depending on file.

Code:

chown -R nemo:privileged /home/nemo/.whatsapp
is solution, not chmod :)

i agree with you about setting world writable permissions but at that moment i needed a fast solution to generate a log file and i just went with this. of course it will not remain like that.

i can confirm that, although it's not a big issue... i reinstalled v0.1-26 today after experiencing some minor problems... using quit-command does not kill the server-task as i still receive messages after quitting.

might be related to the autostart option i had installed previously... i'll try to find out...

Same here. "Quit" from pulldown menu does not kill the daemon, and I still receive messages. I had 3rd party autostart installed, and warehouse doesn't let me uninstall it anymore.

i didn't know that figuring out a potential reason for a problem is considered as spam but i'm always willing to learn...

@willi6868... when you check Autostart in mitakuuluu settings and then restart the ui, is it still checked?

that's why i was suspecting a clash between the built-in autostart and the previous systemd configuration...
edit to clarify: is suspected the old systemd configuration to always restart mitakuuluu-server on quit...

I had the same problem with warehouse so did:

mitakuluu since 25 build contains own autostart, and autostart application automatically removes.
