Hi titan,
I know that you have excluded 125MHz from your kernel but I was wondering whether you would implement it in the following versions of your kernel if 125MHz ever proved to contribute to battery life while not causing stability issues. This way people using your kernel would only have to update it from the App manager and continue using it as they please...

please read and install according to http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...&postcount=141
for me, the 125MHz kernel stays at 600MHz most of time while the 250MHz stays at 250MHz.

I don't think I should go for 900 Mhz in Mumbai..even in the winter..
Is heat the only issue when over-clocking though? Even in cooler climates, would the CPU's life shorten?

Hmm interesting, will re-do then get back!

Good morning, can anyone tell me how to edit pmconfig with the 900mhz package? i tried to edit the file and i got a endless reboot, i have to flash now, but im sure theres a way to edit the file appropriately. it scales the idle to 125 after the 900kernel but the max stays at 600.

you seem to be running an old firmware (PR1.0). PR1.1 should be the minimum required.
I'll add that to the description.

But i am running PR1.1

All you need do is edit the line

scaling_max_freq 600000

and replace it with whatever you want the max to be for example

scaling_max_freq 850000

save - reboot.

I'm going to re-flash from scratch, including eMMC with the files from nokia, then re-flash with 800mhz stock and see if the issue is replicated or not.

I think it's fair to say yes, but to what extent is a gamble and no one knows the exact degree of risk. Most people in this thread don't think the risk is great.

Re: Overclock the N900?

I have installed the 900mhz kernel.
CPU: 125mhz / 250mhz / 500mhz / 550mhz / 900mhz
DSP: 90mhz / 180mhz / 360mhz/ 400mhz / 430mhz
Now my N900 is fast as hell. :-)

But it stays on 500mhz when idle. Is this normal?
