Got an answer from Jolla on an unresolved zendesk question back from last year when i first told them of my "problem" with 199$ mispick.

That's a mess...

I've been bothering Jolla Care (Zendesk) with this question for months, every time the tablet situation seems to change and they always gave me some hope that I might be getting a tablet (the reason why I was asking was to try buying from Taobao if I get a clear answer). This time, I ask if it's final and they tell me that I should ask for refund/donation and if an error is shown, then I might be eligible.

So I try it, no error shown, case closed. But now it seems that what I was asking about (if one can refuse the tablet and the chance moves to another person in the row) is actually true. What they did not tell me is that by choosing refund/donation, to check my eligibility, I actually locked myself out of the chance of getting a 'skipped' tablet. Oh well...

They are quite reactive on that matter if you file a zendesk request i guess ;)

After all things that happend, i think they operate the refund tool from within mysql and will manually do:

I did not find any conclusive Information about what happens to the Cases, so I've taken the route of asking Lastu if they get some Cases back to get rid of or if they'd prefer me to order one regularly – of which I strongly suspect the latter.

I guess, with Jolla out of "don't harm us we are protected mode", they'll at least be partly reimbursed for the "lost" merchandise in the end, so additional sales can not hurt. Except the environment, that is.

I'll report back if they get to answering, so no need for anyone else to spam them as well. :)

Hi. I just tried to order a Lastu case. But it does not appear that they take orders from US. Is that true?

I unfortunately did get the information yesterday from Jolla Care (closely paraphrasing):

We do not have ready access to the fulfillment center. And the work to fulfill is extremely manual.
Regarding the availability of Lastucase covers, I think that Lastucase have mentioned on Twitter that they are disappointed by not getting paid by Jolla for the covers and that Jolla covers will be never ever again available from their shop (someone quoted the tweet few pages back). I'm quite surprised they are still in stock here, but I am afraid they will just sell the rest and not manufacture any additional ones.

What would be more fair, shipping as many people as possible only one tablet (regardless of order) or shipping only to the earliest contributors even if someone ordered 5 tablets?

I finally got myself to fill in the refund form, worked well. I really envy you who got the tablet, I would have preferred that instead of the money back.

So after a short wrestling with myself I decided that I do not need the refund. Instead I now expect Jolla to get back on track. Maybe we see something wonderful after a short while. Like current early bird SFOS update finalized and released.

Yeah I also wondered. It would have been sad for my brother if he wouldn't have got tablet just because I said: "I have IGG account, give me cash and I will contribute also for you."

My understanding is that if they pay Lastucase the full amount(or maybe anything) then they might be breaking the law(because they would be favoring them over others) because they are trying to get debt restructuring. Well if they paid all other debts also I guess it would be ok. I might be wrong but that is my guess.

AFAIK they have not been paid, there was quite bitter tweet about it when Jolla secured bridge funding. I suppose it was big order for lastu so it's no wonder if this snag makes it very difficult for them. Now that Jolla has exited the restructuring, there is likely to be some kind of agreement about payments, but still, such thi gs are not easy for small compabies like Lastu. So I too encourage people to support them.

Do you have a product I could place an order of 10k products... then not pay you a year or so later for and it not hurt your business?

What problems would they have? Lastu has to pay taxes for all those 10k+ cases, even if they don't get paid. Add manufacturing costs + direct labor in to the equation and a business size of Lastu is lucky to survive.

If I was jolla and gave option of refund or donate I would provide some info regarding the upcoming plans. What is the short term goals and where will the money help.

It's a small amount In the big picture abut I would think that more people would consider helping the scamers if they knew where the money would help.
