Last time I was there, you guys were celebrating winning the Davis Cup at Ban Josip Jelačić while I was mourning losing it. I ate a truck of bureks just to feel better.

Burek, like many other things here originate from Turkish and their invasion on Balkans. Now, there's many variants of it across Balkan area, eastern Europe and middle east. The cow (not goat) cheese one is most popular (and cheaper) then the one with meat but also quite different. For me, it's like strudel but salty and I don't like it very much because I like cheese strudel sweet. The one with meat on the other hand is something very different if it's done right. And that's where the problem is, most of them are not that good.

And then you just fill it with whatever you like. Pro tips: if the cheese is moist use less of it with more layers of dough. The same applies if the meat is more on the greasy side.
