Hey, let's take money from one yet to be delivered and/or refunded project and place that money onto another yet to be delivered project.

Really. That's the kind of thinking that keeps some folks perpetually angry and yet somehow never admitting their own fault in the process. Want to fund things, accept the risks. Want the benefits of something that will enrich your life without the risks, find something that's already been released or funded.

Or... keep making decisions that put your money at risk. Your choice.

This is the week of weeks among weeks. Refund or scam. This follow up scam was not money but info like emails and contribution info.

Congratulations! My daughter is also 8 and she already understands the difference between 'need' and 'want' - something my wife still strugglers with.

Hopefully, they'll exhaust their supply of tablets before sending out any refunds. Things'll get worse if someone decides they don't want the tablet any more, and they try to go to the next guy on the list and say "Please give us back your refund! We now have a tablet for you!"

It may happen anyway as they would have to give refund in case person would want refund, so there is no point to postpone it and it would slow down both refund and sending tablets.
Btw it was only 500 tablets, which is not that much (1-3 people teams delivered more projects on crowdfunding projects)

Well, drat! On the form I got, the only options given to me were (a) refund or (b) gift to Jolla. I had assumed that option (c) wait for a tablet to become available was therefore implied. I'd have chosen that one if I had the opportunity...

Will be interesting to see when we get the second half of the money. Shouldn't be too far off and much less pain since Jolla got the process. I think November would be suitable .

Don't worry dave, all will be revealed in the blog update tomorrow, either that or it will be a load of nonsense that we already know and the overuse of the word 'soon'. :D

Yeah. It's possible that the first refund will be so delayed that the second one is the first. Strange world dealing with Jolla :D

The form should have had following options.

1)Refund only
2)Donation only
3)If tablet available I'll take it
4)if tablet not available, pick either donation or refund.

That's it.

I'm kinda glad they didn't have to send out 10,000 tablets, we would still be here in 2026.
And surely it would be easier to process the refunds as they come in, not wait until you have a massssive pile of them, but anyway....
Keep up the good work jolla.

I worked for now a large a software company that was small at the time (about 70 employees). Before we switched to download only, we used to send updates by CD. That was about 35 thousand CDs packed and shipped every month. It took a group of 5 people about 3 days.

Jollas "soon" turned into "delayed to undefined time due to general circumstances caused by our financial thumbscrews, please be happy that we are at least still trying and have found a newspeak meaning of soon to keep you from exploding. Your welcome.".

Hi. How do you know you are the list of "new" 400 invites. Also, did you earlier fill out the form for a refund? Your answer may help clarify how the process works! Thanks!

You thing we be fully refunded before that?

I think it's safe to say will be here 2026 holding the flag.

However, Jolla won't .

Because I got the e-mail from them :)
And yes I did get the refund instructions and followed them weeks ago.

I assume they'll stop the refund?
I'm not the only one in this situation, I assume almost all of these 400 people went thru the refund process only to get the invite to complete their order few days ago.

I think they clearly said they're gonna wait for people to complete their refund applications + see how many people actually complete the Tablet order?

Like now they've sent 400 new invites AFTER we got the refund instructions...I think they are gonna wait until almost all the tablets have been assigned and then they'll be pretty sure all the rest will have to be refunded.

Probably they've started down the line refunds too? At least I think I read some refunds started already and I can only assume are for people much down the line and very very unlikely to get a chance to order the tablet.

Ok. As I understand it. You got the refund instructions and requested the refund. Then recently got the the evite that was sent out to the 400 or so additional folks. Correct?
