DDark, I would be very interested what speed could be typed on this device with 10 fingers or almost 10 fingers. I did not see any video review where anyone tries to type with more than two fingers.
So maybe you simply could try how many wpm you get in comparison to the N900, maybe you could even try to make a video? I would be quite curious. Thanks :)

I doubt it would be something helpful, but I'll try :D

Oh no no no, we need TMO users there to ask extra questions! I really want to know if multiboot will multiple OSes will be possible, or if the phone will only allows single boots. And in the former case, will it be possible out of the box (like the Gemini I believe), or will it depend on the community being able to come up with a multiboot solution as they did with the N900?

I'll Ask.

I don't remember iOS was mentioned as possibility, so we are fine

The top bezel is awfully huge (even if it's actually the bottom for whatever reason)

Not me in NYC. I am in London.
Not me posting tweet. (I only post on my personal account)
Bezel seems to be a software issue. :) The camera app the one uses seems not displaying properly.

I'm about to be in London myself, intend to spend all evening asking questions about the hardware and software ;)

Are there any rough estimates of when you might be in NYC. Btw, for rock guitar enthusiasts, there is a neat exhibit of guitars used by some famous guitarist at the Metropolitan Museum going on.

Yeah Chen, I know there are more than one of you guys traveling and showing of the devices. But seems strange that one has been here for awhile, unless it's a testing unit.

But I've got to keep you guys on your toes :D

And yeah, British come on man it's clearly the software creating the temp bezel ... get with the program ... haha ;)

I don't really think they will offer much more info on this other than what they have provide on the web. Since they probably don't want to promise something they can guarantee. It would be a can of worms from all the passionate people hoping to use other OS ... if it didn't work well.

With that said, I would love to know more of how the progress the alternative OS are making. Like an update to the sailfish, does Maemo-leste even boot up, ubport working? Or will you need to keep android around.

A question that interests me: what is the progress of alternative OSes? Will one of them be usable as soon as the device is available?

Re: Are you Ready? F(x)tec Pro 1 HW Keyboard Phone

Tried out the phone, the keyboard feels great, the phone isn't as big as I expected, the OS feels smoother and more finished than the videos. Opening and closing the keyboard is satisfying, tbh I had more issue using the pie navigation bar than anything to do with the phone itself. I've only ever used the static navigation buttons in android.

The max brightness of the display is quite a bit brighter than my xz1 which is great because that part of my current phone is quite lacking. Speaking of the display it looks great, nice colour range, no distortion or anything from what I could see. From what I was told the Sailfish port is quite far along, with other OS porters such as Lineage and Postmarket OS being arranged iirc.

Only a couple of things I would say need looking in to, the power button itself was a bit loose, and the sound quality of the stereo speakers although decent, weren't entirely clear compared to some single firing speakers tested along side, in this case the Huawei Nova. They were loud though, could still hear them after covering them with my hands as you would when holding the phone with the keyboard out, although obviously muffled though depending on how tightly you press your hand against the speaker grill.

Looking forward to owning it in the near future!

EDIT: clarify I meant max brightness of the display

The size is actually very close to the XZ1, although there's less bezel and more screen on the pro1.
