bbc live news video playing in the background as I type this. text and email msgs flowing in at sametime. If only Nokia will fix the bugs and quirks then this may well be a classic.

no single wow moment. but then again, the (few) other devices i've held in my hands have yielded no wow moments either.
the 2 very pleasant surprises have been the fm transmitter and the smooth video playback. skype integration also deserves a mention. |
Re: What have been your 'wow' moments with the N900 so far?
1. Platform itself (compared to Symbian)
2. How well the social networking (facebook, image tagging, sharing) is inegrated 3. Skype 4. Open platform 5. QWERTY 6. The Micro-B Browser 7. Contacts & Hermes 8. Media Player (needs still a bit fixing, but compared to symbian..) 9. The Storage (32gb versus to my N95 8gb) 10. PDF Reader (finally I can open big docs and really read them without zooming +300% :) ) I could go on and on with this list, although I acknowledge there is work to be done, but that's why I the Maemo Community (never stops exploring and developing ) |

Re: What have been your 'wow' moments with the N900 so far?
Even after 3 weeks of use, I keep getting surprised and love the phone more.
This morning, from my bed as I am unwell, I picked up my work email. Saw my client has a funding issue, logged on to Lloyds factoring site and arranged a drawdown of £30k, then logged on to HSBC business banking and viewed recent statement and replied to client by email and sms to say now all ok. I then went back to playinf frontier elite on dosbox (game loads fine but controls are a bit suspect - but trying to resolve is half the fun!) and in a moment im going to watch family guy something something something dark side. Coming from an htc tytn II - this phone (in my opinion) is head and shoulders above anything i have used which includes friends iphone and palm pre. Probably because it is a mini computer device with a phone added rather than a phone with computer aspects added. I just hope Nokia give enough support to the OS and the community, particulalry those here that create such great applications. |
Re: What have been your 'wow' moments with the N900 so far?
There have been quite a few nice surprises/wow moments from my N900. Most recently, playing music from my PC via my N900 to my living room stereo with no wires. The media player in general is excellent as well.
