Dear hqh / hopbeat. Thanks for your very great tool. I would like to make a feature request: being able to customize the cam button to pause the playback of my audio player (if it is currently playing) and to resume it (if it is currently not playing). I hope this is technically possible. For the first function, the functionality could be taken from Headphone daemon, i suppose. The situation I am dreaming of is, of course, the following: I walk or jog and want to stop and resume the player without having to take out my n900 and use its touchscreen for this. Hmm. If the program could just be customized to run any script, i suppose i would just have to call scripts with "dbus-send --type="method_call" --dest=org.panucci.panucciInterface /panucciInterface org.panucci.panucciInterface.playPause
" and the like. Such "call what you like" functionality is not yet included? Anway, i would be most grateful if you could add this feature.

A new feature need has surfaced suddenly.
I have this Mugen Power 2400 mAh battery now. Currently I still have their design flawed back cover, which is missing the critical magnet and microSD-card cannot be mounted. But after they have fixed it, it still will be reality that back cover won't have a lens cover, and the device thinks the lens cover is open all the time.

Now shortcutd obviously has some switch, that it won't work when the lens cover is open. Yes, that would be annoying when you are trying to take a photo, some shortcutd triggered action or usermenu would pop up. But now with this bigger 2400 Mugen battery, shortcutd is useless.

Shortcutd could still be used, optionally if user chooses in the configuration, this way:
Instead checking if the lens cover is being open or not, it would check if the camera application is on the foreground, "maximized" or not. (I'll create an "official" bugtracker ticket fot this later.)

What about to use the camera button to send a pause/resume command to audio/video applications while the screen is locked?

Is this possible? :)

Hi,
Very good and helpful app.
On my phone, when I press the camera button, the phone opens OK on short press Like I asked and "menu" on a long press just like I wanted - BUT I ALSO get the "camera standby" screen opening in the background. Is this standard? Can it be canceled? Or is this a bug on my phone?

N900's camera shutter button has two steps (as all the proper cameras, half-way it focuses and down it take picture, FYI this is why you should never ever just press it at once down to take picture) so press it half-way down. If you press it down then you will have always camera standby screen also.

Got it! there's "Long vs. Short press" and "Half-way (no click) vs. Full press (click)". I mixed the two up. Thanks.

Is it possible to disable shortcutd for specific applications because it is not very useful together with Sygic and my car kit...

I've just realised something shortcutd needs that's so obvious I can't believe I hadn't noticed it before... Is it possible to map an input to shift-backspace, thus giving a forward button for the browser?

I have the proximity sensor toggle after long press option on.

Is it supposed to toggle after I'm done with a phone call? I'm guessing the sensor is registering my ear as a long press toggle during the phone call.

Somehow the proximityd is not running anymore, even after a reboot and new settings (but it is still installed).
How can I fix it?
