Did you made a reboot before starting the game the first time?

Check out how fluent it is: http://youtu.be/watch?v=_58jo0TnIOI

You can't seriously call that fluent? No wonder why most threads about performance have extremely fluctuating performance reports when this gets labeled smooth...

I hope this helps.

This is mainly incorrect.

You are correct in saying you cannot have App manager open whilst trying to use apt-get on the command line (ie xterm).

There are no "file databases"

Having file explorer open should not be a problem.

Having an app open that "accesses the N900 file sytem" is perfectly OK. In fact it's impossible to stop all apps that access the file system.

;)

This is probably because a 10-year-old doesn't need what you want and is far better off with his ipod.

Although that's a decent retaliation (for a 10 yrs old), it doesn't really address the real issues mentioned there does it? (programs load time, apps availability)

depackage and -install

Also "dpkg" is the name of the primary package manager of Debian
It comes from "Debian GNU/Linux Package Manager"

dpkg is the "application", and -i is short for -install.
So basically it installs the package you are pointing to.

Yes I have this on my iPod Touch for some time now, If I am right it has 400MHz CPU, and a few year old device (1st gen) the game loads really fast, and runs super smooth, plus it is much nicer to play on capacitive screen (resistive is better for web). I had to OC my N900 to 1GHz with also running swappolube. Maemo is great OS, but far from optimized, i guess Digital Chocolate let their hands down trying to make it run good on N900. You might hate apple, but you have to agree the OS is pretty smooth sailing on that old CPU, and 3D games run great.

EDIT:
Would someone like me to make a comparison demo of this game? (iTouch / N900)
