Re: [Announce] Holy Quran for N900
@MSameer: i have created the blue theme icons and dock bar background and some other background files. The SVG files are scalable so I did it in square format but the present png files are 112x112 px... you need to adjust them accordingly :)

Re: [Announce] Holy Quran for N900
Ok I finished the Blue theme and also completed the .svg of all the files... You can see the mock-up below...

lovely piece of work TransTech :)

Re: [Announce] Holy Quran for N900
Oh!
I missed a lot of updates. Why didn't I get any email notifications :( @TransTech Great job. I'll check them the moment I'm done with the translation. Seems I'm hitting a Qt limitation with the approach I've been taking for implementing the text view in general. I guess I need to step back and see what could be done... I was also waiting for your mockup about the previous/next page navigation ? As for any configuration files, I'll gladly do it. I thought that we want the user to be able to create new themes but seems you are planning to ship a bunch of themes with the application. |

thanks for the config files... (i'm a noob at coding.. i know very little about c++ only ) I wanted each and every member (who knows to create and put the theme files and who dont know anything about it) to experiance changing the themes as per his/her choice, so its better to bundle some 4 or 5 themes and also if possible an option to put personilized themes seperately... i didnt understant what you mean by Qt limitation thing.. anyway that doesnt seems for me.. :) I forgot to put this one icon yesterday.. its 2nd part of fullscreen button(close fullscreen).. it appears in place of fullscreen button when the user is in fullscreen.. here it is... http://dc391.4shared.com/img/vtbLZe-...602/RFBlue.png RFBlue.svg EDIT: Still more icons for font change option (All files reattached) Link: Attachment 22291 please tell me if these icons are correct because only then i can work on other color themes it this one is finalized.. |
Re: [Announce] Holy Quran for N900
0.3 came out of the autobuilder with preliminary support for translations :)
Now I guess I should start working on the theming support and solve the previous and next swipe problem. Now that I've seen the mockup, I like the idea but changing the width of the text view will make the flick animation a bit smaller. It will also change the amount of text visible on the screen thus the user will end up with a line that is not exactly what he wanted. We can either: 1) Make the icons semi transparent and floating above the text OR 2) Replace some buttons in the bottom toolbar with the arrows needed for navigation briefly OR 3) Show briefly a new floating toolbar with the navigation icons when you flick the page: That toolbar position should be dependent on the direction of flicking. flick = swipe downwards or upwards. What does everybody think ? :) @TransTech I'd like to credit you in the about page for your work. Do you mind giving me a name and an email address to show them beside mine in the about page ? :) |

About the next and previous swipe problem i like your first idea, i.e. Make the icons semi transparent and floating above the text (and visible when swiped left or right ), and i have created a mock-up of the same with new semi transperant icons you can see in the attached files (and also below), i have one more sugesstion and that is, can we keep an option for unlimited flick (scroll) to change pages (it would be easy while reading multiple Surahs, p.s suggested by a family member) in the settings. :) About the other two ideas 2nd one, replacing icons in the bottom tool bar and adding navigation buttons is difficult at times so i dont consider it. 3rd Idea of having a seperate floating dockbar to show navigation buttons when filcked up-down (floating dockbar at the bottom when flicked up and vice-versa) may cause unneccessary irritation because a user may accidently tap on it while flicking.. @MSameer: About crediting me in about page, i'll send you a pm about the details.. thanks :) Atttachment: Attachment 22300 http://www.4shared.com/photo/g3Vtr4w5/8_online.html http://www.4shared.com/photo/PlblMWK-/2_3.html http://www.4shared.com/photo/f8AzkxON/3_2.html |
Re: [Announce] Holy Quran for N900
Jazak'Allaahu khair for all the good work, this is really very much appreciated.
Not to sound like an ingrate in my first post (been following for a while, only just registered) but has anyone noticed the issues with rendering the kasara (zabar) under the noon? It seems to appear behind the letter rather than underneath it. This is in the font that is not in TransTechs screenshots (I'm guessing that they are library pictures of the arabic?) Jazak'Allaahu khair again for all the hard work, it is appreciated by more than those who have replied in this thread. Wassalaams, Satamoot |
Re: [Announce] Holy Quran for N900
I really want to thank you guys for sucha nice work ,it is awesomely smooth.i am dying to see the translation part and then later on Tafseer part .great great work .
1 suggestion : when we swipe for the next page ,the page doesnt get swiped as it should ,may be this is me ,but it surely takes 2 to 3 swipes (actually ) to reach the next page ,if you could make it more smooth . jazakALLah khair . |

p.s. the font and translation in mockups is directly copied from a pdf file (of) = In the Shade of the Qur'an.. (screen captured). Thanks.. |
