Re: What Applications would you like to see on Sailfish Devices?
It'd be cool if somebody would port Gritz (https://github.com/xypiie/gritz) to Sailfish.
Gritz is an open source implementation of Spritz, a fast text reader. See the Spritz web page to see how it works: http://www.spritzinc.com (from a post on Hack-a-Day) |
Re: What Applications would you like to see on Sailfish Devices?

Re: What Applications would you like to see on Sailfish Devices?
I did add a first version of a port of FBReader (189 in list) to my openrepos some days ago.

From my experience so far it works very well and also in comparison to the Android FBReader I've been using before starts almost instantaneously! :) BTW, any plans about active cover support ? I guess having (a part of) the book name and say page number/pages total on it would be a nice addition. :) |

Re: What Applications would you like to see on Sailfish Devices?
I would like to see following applications ported:
Soundtracker - https://betalabs.nokia.com/blog/2012...ated-to-v2-0-6 Telegram - https://telegram.org/ Linphone - http://www.linphone.org/ SCP/SSH client with a nice GUI Spectrum emulator - http://www.worldofspectrum.org/emulators.html mplayer - http://www.mplayerhq.hu/design7/dload.html and was already ported to wayland http://wayland.freedesktop.org/extras.html Transmission - http://www.transmissionbt.com/ In my opinion these are applications who can be easily ported to Sailfish. |

Is someone working on a
Dreambox Remote App with Video Streaming? or a Hyperion/Ambi-TV Color control App (for Raspberry)? |

pkcon install usb-moded-connection-sharing-android-config Reboot. You can turn off developer mode again if you want. On inserting USB there will be an internet sharing option. (uses rndis and nat, should work out of the box on Linux/Windows/*BSD/.....AnyOS except OS X, where you need to install horndis first. Note this does not take into account roaming, so be careful if you use this when roaming. Quote:

Re: What Applications would you like to see on Sailfish Devices?
would love to see automatic icloud synchronization, for you know, backing stuff up
|
Re: What Applications would you like to see on Sailfish Devices?
Yep, 'could install automatically with a selfie-toh with built-in mirror.
(And apart from that, Orrery's still on top of my list. And some application to send/receive SMS in an efficient way using SSH (possibly with terminal, and scripts exist already, but are not finished). And SMSCon from the N900. And a FTP application. And Call Recorder. And EasyDebian. And Wizzard Mounter, I don't think I've read this one being mentionned here, but I would really really enjoy this one, or any similar application allowing to mount network drives with Samba or whatnot.) |
Re: What Applications would you like to see on Sailfish Devices?
A fully functional GoPro remote. Well, a preview is not so necessary, but an ability to download media files from the camera is a must.
I have tried several Android apps and only one remote worked (the preview didn't) - https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...avarn.remotego |
Re: What Applications would you like to see on Sailfish Devices?
@Kabouik:
There's an app calle FishNetMount on warehouse that works like Wizzard Mounter to mount SMb or NFS shares. Works fine for me! |

I would really like to have a native app for that (until then, android version of Vu+ Player works quite well). |

I have trouble configuring it for a Windows shared drive though. Is it compatible with Linux only? The IP of the server is right. I have created mount points in /media on the Jolla, using mkdir as root. Should I add the "/" or "\" to the Remote directory in FishNetMount GUI? |
Re: What Applications would you like to see on Sailfish Devices?
Can someone port SMPlayer and Orechiette from Maemo 5 to Sailfish OS???
|
Re: What Applications would you like to see on Sailfish Devices?
And also, anyone want to port Claws-Mail to Sailfish???

E.g. if you set up a share in Windows for a folder in C:\data\somefolder\sharedfolder, the share name is "sharedfolder" and not the whole path. It looks the same if you try to access the share from another windows machine - the shared folder will be found under "\\servername\sharedfolder". |
Re: What Applications would you like to see on Sailfish Devices?
Thanks a lot, I got it working!
It seems that folders containing accents are not properly encoded (strange chars), making impossible to access their content. Is the issue with Fishnetmount, or with Samba, or with my desktop PC, or anything? I can't rename all folders, changing the paths would break many things on the main computer. |
Re: What Applications would you like to see on Sailfish Devices?
I miss my Pinball Fantasies from N9. I miss it bad.
Vesa Halttunen, I saw you were involved with Jolla UI too, so if you are reading this, is there a slightest possibility to get this ported to Sailfish? Maybe the day Jolla gets its store payment system working, if not earlier? |
Re: What Applications would you like to see on Sailfish Devices?
Are there any auto-brightness apps for Jolla?
