But is there a native Telegram client for Sailfish yet? I really hope Coderus will keep maintaining and developing Mitkuuluu..

Re: [ANNOUNCEMENT] Whatsup on Jolla

There's one, you can find it on OpenRepos (it's called Jollagram). Unfortunately it's still far from being as complete and polished as WhatsUp (and I don't know the Telegram and WhatsApp services enough to know if it has to do with the Sailfish applications or the services' features by themselves, but the UI is still more polished on WhatsUp at the moment).

There were also people who complained that Whatsup or Mitakuuluu or whatever other network app didn't connect for them. Doesn't mean it's a widespread problem. If you have issues with Sailorgram, I'd suggest you open an issue on dax89's GitHub page instead of complaining about it in a thread that's about an application called Whatsup.

No, you can not. You can't copyright a meaning either. You can trademark or copyright an expression, not a meaning.

That was just a comment about it but sorry for the offtopic.

Cepiperez, would you accept releasing the code of WhatsUp so other can continue developping it ?
At least in some jurisdiction it should be easier to do.

Hello everybody,
I tested the day the WhatsUp client for Sailfish from CepiPerez. This works with a Nexus 4 perfectly. I have now done a factory reset and wanted to reinstall the client. Unfortunately OpenRepos page is offline. Where can I get the packet "WhatsUp 0.1-9.armv7hl.rpm"?

best regards
Jetronic

@jetronic: OpenRepos is not offline, but Whatsup got removed from it. Probably a consequence of:

Now I can cancel my Nexus Sailfish test :-(

I'd say the internet doesn't forget... try this at your own risk and keep the file safe ;-)

Download for SFOS

Edit: Changed link, since previous one didn't work on phone web-browser...

This seems to be a new build?
Who is working on it!?

I know that Cepi really left the project...
Great that someone else has picked this project up!

Re: [ANNOUNCEMENT] Whatsup on Jolla

folks. my whatsup like some others have reported) keeps lagging with the yellow popup that says it has hung and whether you want to wait or terminate the task.

today i noticed when on wifi, the lag seems shorter. then i switched to 4g and it was lagging like normal (since i use 4g all the time). then when whatsup had hung, i immediately disconnected data and instantly whatsup stopped lagging and was very very smooth.

so the issue seems related to networking code. tcp blocking mode? asynch vs synch? no idea but i hope this bit of information can help someone pinpoint the source of the lag / slow down.

I am glad an update is available. But I am curious why is the installation file almost double in size. Have you added new features? If so, would you mind listing? Thanks

Seems like registration is fixed,
and has new emoji support! (that is the reason why it's bigger in size now)

Whatsup no longer logging in as of this morning... Old Version message.
With no maintainer, looks like the beginning of the end....

I find strange that, at the same time, there is an outage of whatsapp in some areas.

And Sailorgram cannot connect either:confused:

Interesting... The android app works fine, but whatsup now gives old version message. (I'm in Australia) and my sailorgram is working fine...

I have used Whatsup in my Jolla since beginning (from the first version) and it's still working. I use now v0.1-10. Never had any kind of problems with this or later versions... Located in Finland.

Nevermind, seems like installing the new version over the top doesn't actually update it. v0.1-10 works perfectly.

Yes, back on track :)

It's seems the problem was due to the outage this morning.

Re: [ANNOUNCEMENT] Whatsup on Jolla

I got the "old version" error.
I can't find whatsupp on openrepos, so how can I fix it?

Re: [ANNOUNCEMENT] Whatsup on Jolla

has anyone else got an issue receiving messages on v0.1-10? I can send messages fine and see when the other person is typing, but the message content does not appear. The other person receives the message fine at their end.

It only works if I create a group and receive a message in the group chat.

Re: [ANNOUNCEMENT] Whatsup on Jolla

I also got the "old version" error with v0.1-9. Updating to v0.1-10 fixed the problem.

Search for Emoji in Warehouse.

The Dolphin set gives you a colour keyboard, Penguin's is monochrome.

@wimmie whatsup should answer with special receit for that senders, so they will send you plaintext instead of encryption. But this answer is more for @CepiPerez than you :D
