Is it the border around the phone screen?

its the frame around the display...why there is sooooo much space on the top and on the bottom? rly, is this necessary? 4,5" is big enough, why make the phone even bigger with such useless space.

another thing i dont get is: what are they meaning with "other half"? i hope its more than just the stupid back cover

That space is due to the pull out keyboard a la n900 ;)

Or place for clamps to hold it over N900's screen while using N900's hwkb

It's not only Elop. I do remember 3/4 steps and than 4/5 steps and so on :) It was always just prove of concept. But if company claims to do it right, it's also communication.
P.S. And opensource can bring money, you don't need to open everything, but still to make most parts opensource and to tell community what is going on at least. (Metawatch, Raspeberry Pi and more). As far as i heard Jolla has enuf $$.

i don't understand why you are so angry w/ Jolla  :(

Join the movement and spread the love!

Posted on 20.05.2013 by Marc Dillon

Jolla was born out of passion and expertise in creating mobile products. We saw that we had a chance to make something really unique, and we decided to do it although it seemed crazy to many people at the time. We have proven that by being different, doing unlike things and spreading the love, we can create a world class product with enormous demand and support from the world.

Sailing into history

Jolla has been a community from the very beginning. I was following the community and participating in it, now I am honored to lead the Jolla team.

Jolla’s culture is a culture of inclusion, and the Jolla community is Jolla’s backbone. It's a tribe of people who share the same values of free spirit, open innovation and rebellion attitude. It’s a movement that grows every day.

give them a chance to live up to our expectations, maybe? :o

EDIT:
what do you expect?
your personal device, delivered free of charge to your door step?
NOKIA could afford that kind of none-sense, Jolla as a start-up obviously can't.
you'll have to pay for that one, like everyone else.
is that what you are upset about?

Boooring. Sorry to say it, but Jolla based their phone concept on the wrong phone. The N9. They should have based it on N900.

But best of luck.

To me that is 299€ phone, not a euro more. I have a pre-ordered one, but I doubt I will go trough with the purchase unless they increase the spec or lower the price.

Why would they have models walking around with prototypes & showcasing them all over the place? That would be dumb.
