Re: Overclock the N900?
Can someone help me wth my problem?
I've downloaded the maemo flasher 3.5 Installed it onto my desktop AND laptop, running xp and windows 7 32bit respectively. I've already put the zimage800mhz file into: C:\Program Files\maemo\flasher-3.5 I then hold u, plug the usb in (showing the usb icon), and let go of u i usually get a "problem" with a notification of the usb device getting disconnected or something in windows. I try to open the flasher 3.5, but the command line window opens for a split second and automatically closes before I have a chance to input the command. Is anyone familiar with this problem or know how to get around it? I've already tried it on both windows 7 32bit and xp 32bit. HELP! |

IMO its important for many users to know if the battery last shorter when OCing. I dont want to have less battery time then there already is. |

EDIT: Actually you might be right. The kernel warnings might just happen to appear at specific clock frequencies without necessarily indicating problems. If that is indeed the case, well then.... carry on :) |
Re: Overclock the N900?
hey i asked earlier but can anyone let me know if they have successfully enabled:
sr_vdd1_autocomp 0 > 1 sr_vdd2_autocomp 0 > 1 and the: scaling_max_freq 600000 > 900000 on the 900mhz kernel? has anyone a least gotten the pmconfig hack working on the oc kernel? i get a device that wont boot i dunno id like a 2nd opinion. thanks |
Re: Overclock the N900?
I ran at 900mhz for 2 days, no problems to find. Just dropped down too 800mhz to see if there is much difference that i can see.
As i've just reflashed the kernel again, will the errors/warnings be erased? |

specifications are based on testing, and a safety margin. What makes overclocking possible is that we know for sure manufacturers have chips that overfulfill their specifications, to make sure they are giving the user what the user is paying for. But we don't know which chips are really close to the specifications and which are actually a LOT better than their specifications. So we know we can get away with some overclocking, but we don't know how much. That varies with the individual chip, really. Only testing can tell, and if you do more than you can get away with, you could destroy your precious N900. I hope that's sorta clear. I'm not an expert. |

Edit: Talking about the SmartReflex, not the scaling_max_freq |
