megabyte405,
Thank you for your efforts. I tried 2.5 and was impressed with its potential. I look forward to a new release.

Ok, the flowers are blooming, the warm May breezes are blowing, the students have all finished writing their finals here at my university...

Do you have any time, now?

Is that real, Qole?

Re: Abiword for OS2008?

Yes and no. Yes, it is really MS Word, and it isn't a mock-up, and yes, it looks and feels like it is running on the tablet, but no, it isn't running on the tablet, it is running on my Linux computer (at home), using Wine. I'm using SSH X-forwarding to use Word on my tablet; this means I can only use it when I have an Internet connection. I was surprised at how well it runs over WiFi, I was expecting to be painfully slow. It is actually useable, for things like converting Word docs to PDFs, etc. I have to use my Bluetooth keyboard.

Hmm, I wonder if PowerPoint works as well as Word?

That's kinda cool. Arguably better than rdesktop/VNC for bringing in one app, as you get proper window-management (including, I bet, full-screen via wmctrl), but one question: What happens when wireless cuts out? (I haven't ever used X over ssh, not having any x programs I need, so I don't know...)

ssh is pretty resistant to brief losses of connection. You can lose connection for a couple of minutes and be none the worse for wear. You'll just notice that your app becomes unresponsive. But I would save often, nonetheless.

Good; I knew SSH was good; but I didn't know if X wound up being brittle about it. Thanks!!
