I have $1.43 remaining on my card and trying to find a place to use it where I don't feel guilty about incurring a processing fee for the retailer. Maybe Wal-Mart :)

Got mine around mid/end March. Didn't have to re-submit, went through the first time. Also on a Dell deal.

Going try to call again tomorrow. If this doesn't get resolved I'm sending a letter to the BBB.

Re: Nokia Visa $50 rebate/prepaid card

I sent in the rebate at the very beginning of January. I'm sure I filled out the form carefully and correctly. I still have a copy of the information. I had done numerous rebates in my life and never had any problem before this.

It claims to require at least 8-10 weeks to have the status shown in the system. So, that would be after March,2010. Now, it's May, which is only two months away. I just talked to a CSR. She said she couldn't find my record, and it's not allowed for resubmission because the offer has already "expired". She said there's nothing I can do. That's ridiculous since this rebate was from Nokia directly.

I was shocked. I've been a loyal Nokia fan in the past several years. I liked my 6230, N82, N95 8gb, 5800, and then got the N900. I trusted Nokia more than any of other phone company. Now, I'm feeling being betrayed. I'll never buy Nokia or defend Nokia in front of my friends anymore. GOODBYE Nokia!

The CSR was wrong. I guess there's still something I can do. The first thing is to tell BBB.

Re: Nokia Visa $50 rebate/prepaid card

Yeah, I had the same problem with most of you. I think the people who are having problems are the people who bought their N900 from amazon.com. The people who bought it from dell seemed they got their rebate. Plus that's another thing. On amazon it was a $50 credit on a debit card not a rebate exactly. Although, you could think of it as a rebate since you will get $50 on a debit card and use it to buy other things. I also did everything they asked me to. I sent it before the January 2010 deadline. But the only glitch on my part was when I sent the application the first time I think I may have given an incorrect username. So then I called the nokia promotions people telling them that I have made a mistake on submitting my username on the original form I had sent. So, no problem, they sent me an additional corrective form for me to submit my correct username. Then I waited and waited till April 2010. I called and then the nokia promotions people said we never got it. Yeah right. I remembered that I was very careful writing the correct address and they said they never got it. Then the rep said okay send us a letter with the username only. More than just the username I gave my name, the serial no, when I purchased it just to make sure they will accept it. So this would be the 3rd time I sent nokia promotions to get my $50 credit debit card. To this day I never received it. There should be a class action against Nokia on this. You know, when I think of it, it is only $50. Plus, the phone does have free access to ovimaps. But it is the principle how Nokia deceived us what really irks me. Plus, a deal is a deal. They broken that deal.

I am also planning to send it to BBB. Looks like Nokia has a lot of address in BBB? Which one should we send the complain to?

Just FYI: I bought through Amazon in December and got the rebate card. It's a rather ridiculous way to give a rebate, though. What's wrong with a check?

I bought through Dell, and I took my complaint to the BBB also. It's not Nokia that handles the rebates, its Young America out of Minnesota. They are not members of the BBB, but actually responded to my complaint in a timely manner. I will reserve judgement until the rebate is in my hands, but they are supposed to be sending my rebate in several weeks. Also, regarding debit cards, I'm sure it's just another way for them to make money, as not everyone spends the full amount on the card.
