Re: N900 Camera Images Hazy

The haze is in fact a double reflection. The flash reflects from the bezel/slider, but a large part of that comes back at a shallow angle bouncing off from the optics surface like a pebble on water. If you have dirt/grease/etc on it, however, it can reflect it straight onto the sensor - hello haze.

Try reapplying the marker. I had to use several coats.

Re: N900 Camera Images Hazy

Strange, I have a haze on top portion of frame and I concluded that it is a silver-painted rectangular - the nearest part to flash.

But not blue-painted slider - bluish color is because flash has more blue in spectrum.

from the monterey bay aquarium.

taken on the n900 with grubby fingers all over the glass from the kids there.

they hardly can be considered bad by any means. they were taken in bad, low light conditions in some cases and by a non-professional photographer, with a cellular phone/MID.

not sure what so many people are complaining about.

the colors pop. and are seperated well, with a broad range of colors being displayed correctly.

Re: N900 Camera Images Hazy

Follow-up to my previous post.

So I manages to reproduce the silver/white haze problem which is probably because of silver bezel around the camera.

NOTE: I have used marker to color BLUE bezel to black. So this is not about Blue haze problem.

Ingredients:
- 5 m x 6m room where is no light source
- One door open to room with lights on.
- Target on floor about 3 m from door and 2 m sideways to door
- As seen in picture quite dark colors on scene.
- Target about 1,5 m away and my N900 about 1,5 m high in angle about 40-45. Door is about 20:00 clock from me.
- Camera settings (default, all automatic and high resolution)
-- If you are using shortcutd remember to disable it. Interferes with camera button when back is taken off
- Take two pictures with back and off
- Compare and post results.

What is the easiest way to remove the camera slider to paint it black? I don't want to paint it while its still in the back cover.

Re: N900 Camera Images Hazy

Can anyone sum up the best way to fix this?

1) I am fine to paint it should I paint the blue edge
shiny black or matte black

2) should I paint the chrome?
white shiny white matte black shiny black matte
