For those of you having a Nokia N900 this release contains more or less the same code shipped within your device (remember that Modest, the email program, is tinymail powered). For all people that followed the progresses in tinymail I blogged about recently (here, here or here) you will have to wait for v1.2 release. I promise you won’t have to wait that much…

If he does this comment means that he knows whenwill be released and also that is near the release date.... What do you think?

"that much" is quite subjective.. plus out of his control; so could be anything from a day to 3 months at least.. :) still, yeah, I hope it really is not that much (for me that's 2-3 weeks max.. lol)!

Nokians and some other higher ups already are running 1.2 so it is definitely in code freeze and probably in final testing before release. Barring showstopping bugs it will probably be released within the next few weeks. I am not expecting huge changes, my only wishes are for better power optimization and better implementation of portrait browser (which I find I use more than I expected to). Oh and Flash 10.1 wouldn't be a terrible addition either :p

As per my previous post in one of the other speculation threads.

We have got a week 2 release (3.2010.2-8) in week 7 on Feb 16th. So following that timescale a week 7 release (10.2010.07-3) will be in week 12. Which is week commencing Mar 22nd..

Oh cool! Do you know this from personal contact or have they commented to that effect e.g. on this forum?

Anyway, can't wait, hope there are a lot of small tweaks - I too am not expecting or needing massive changes! :)

Getting my N900 tomorrow or the next day, really want turn by turn navigation, haha!

I wonder which side of the great divide I'll be on.

No peter said Maemo 6/MeeGO will support potrait mode and also they are more interested in integrating Ovi services in MeeGo rather than maemo 5 !!

Don't worry, Nokia or the community will make Meego run on N900 too! :) [My guess]
