but it still keeps asking about modifying settings even when you untick and say no, then still changes your default Internet Connections to "Always ask", plus apparently a minus sign "-" is an invalid character for an SSID (try telling that to the hundreds of APs I've set up over the years).

Re: Joiku for n900 available :)

I have a different problem with Joikuspot. I did go through this thread but did not see this problem mentioned, though I skimmed through some of the thread so I may have missed it.

- I'm running Windows XP on my laptop.
- I start Joikuspot and click the Share Internet button.
(If I'm not already connected to the internet via 3G it gives an error "no valid access points found" - if I am already connected it says using current connection and starts up, but this a separate problem)
- On my laptop I refresh the list of available wifi connections and JoikuSpot shows up in the list.
- I click the connect button (on xp) and it says "acquiring network address" and then "Connected". So my laptop thinks it is connected to the Joikuspot connection.
- However, on Joikuspot the list of connected devices remains empty, and no data is passed either way.
JoikuSpot doesn't see my laptop at all!
I switched my firewall off, but it made no difference.

Anyone have any ideas what might be going on here?

Yup it finally remembers not to fiddle with your Internet settings if you don't want it to. No idea what else has changed as the website doesn't seem to list it as available.

There's a bit about it at the bottom of the page (taken from the Facebook page):

JoikuSpot Linux 1.2 has been released. Update is free and the new file can be received under App manager --> Update. Release notes: • IAP selection fix; show SIM related IAP’s • Startup sequence updated, fix startup errors • Update/improve “Automatic WLAN scanner settings” dialog and settings menu • Improve opt-folder usage by removing kernel module form into opt-folder • Other minor fixes

Did you guys know that joikuspot premium doesn't require any licence key...after you pay for it on the website they just give you the repo where you can download it....!!!!:)

Yeah uh this was already discussed earlier. They are assuming people will do the right thing and pay for it. I emailed them and they said they will be changing this and will probably bring back license keys as it is developed.
