leafpad /etc/multiboot.d/11 Tap TAB at the bottom of the screen, I get the following line appearing: leafpad /etc/multiboot.d/11-NITDroid-mmcblk0p2-2.6.28.NIT.0 and if I press enter there are no lines in the file. It's empty. I quit out of file without saving. Is that right? I was expecting to see a couple of lines and specically a line mentioning "ITEM_DEVICE=mmcblk0p2". My guess is it because the file already exists, there is no need to edit the boot file. Would that be correct? |
Re: [Release] N12 "UMay" - Android GingerBread 2.3.4
My /etc/multiboot.d folder has the following files:
00-Maemo-2.6.28-omap1.item - i.e Maemo 11-NITDroid-mmcblk0p2-2.6.28.NIT.06.item - i.e old kernel 11-NITDroid-mmcblk0p2-2.6.28.NIT.07.item - i.e new kernel inside those 2 last .items there must be a line like tihs ITEM_DEVICE=mmcblk0p2 So, don't leafpad at the /etc/multiboot.d/11 (there is no such file as "11") Just enter those 2 last .item files and change line accordingly. I learned myself the hard way :-) @artron See this post, you need to make sure that the multiboot menu points to the correct location. |

Kernel is compatible. But NITDroid expects some initialization that is done by multiboot. Multiboot loads all necessary modules (at least for mouting NITDroid's partition), make depmod, it mounts root, makes maemo's root accessible in /mnt/initfs (yeah, it's needed in order to force nokia's binary crap (DSME, BME, SYSINFOD/CAL) to work)... I plan to move required logic to NITDroid itself, but this task doesn't have high priority as far as multiboot "just works". |
