It is ok, but if you open insided LXDE a software with text input field, you should get :

Code:

$ xmimd.sh
xmimd running with Xephyr LXDE window id : 0x03400002
Server running
XIM_OPEN
XIM_CREATE_IC
XIM_GET_IC_VALUES
XIM_SET_IC_FOCUS

or
[root@chroot: /] suxephwm-id.sh

What is the difference here?

Both work for me, but the last one shows the MyDocs content in LXDE desktop and works inside an icon (lxde.desktop).

So here I did mistake somewhere. I'll try to find it.

I had a freshly reflashed n9 before playing with scripts.
I noticed performance drop(sometimes it's lagging sometimes is snappy, probably cause of inception).

In dmesg i can see following errors:
Code:

[  112.575683] Aegis: cannot measure file orcexec.p1clT0 (process: camera-ui)
[  112.575927] Aegis: cannot measure file orcexec.Ii20AR (process: camera-ui)

As I mentioned, I have n9 just a couple days so don't know if aegis normally generate this sort of messages.

To both : try to install Inception (or open mode kernel) and be sure they work well before trying HarmChom (Easy Debian for Harmattan).

Ok i found a source of lag.
With Javispedro daemon xmimd process meego-im-uiserver takes constantly around 20% of cpu.
After uninstalling package it is around 5%.

How are you measuring it ?

In my N9, with LXDE & gedit open with MeeGo keyboard visible, the CPU usage is very low. meego-im-uiserver is always between 0%-5% of CPU usage (using htop). When xmimd is not used, meego-im-uiserver takes 0%-2%.

I don't see any lag in my N9 (@ 1000 MHz, i.e., without overclocking), even when LXDE is open with OpenOffice.

With top.
I'll reflash and see if I'll be able to reproduce the problem.

If do you, please take careful note of the steps. And paste the output of the terminal where xmimd is being run..

Note that a 5% Cpu usage is already huge, so I must suspect you are doing the measuring wrong.

Re: Chroot Scripts for Harmattan Open Mode

My n9 screen died. I took it to Nokia Care and need to wait a week untill I'll get it back.

Before it died i was trying to reinstall xmimd (before reflashing) and I couldn't reproduce high CPU usage.

I was measuring it in good way, thats for sure (I'm working as software tester in company producing linux based os and I know how to read top output :)
Sorry I didn't post it then but I was not at home and didn't have enough time.
Also you could say that something is wrong seeing how interface lags.

I'll try to investigate it as soon as I'll get my n9 back.
