Kind Regards.

This is really worrying me now as the Vodafone deals are horrible.

Many chose MPD only because it worked out about the same/cheaper to get it on T-Mobile over 18 months as it would to buy it SIM free. Getting it later than Nokia online then being told it will be more expensive than agreed upon........:(

Personally, I can't afford to buy it outright but if I have to choose Voda I am not sure I can afford it at all.

I mean come on, the deal I chose on T-Mobile:
£20/month (200 mins) for 18 months, £86.99 up front.
Vodafone:
£20/month (75 mins) for 18 months, £183.99 up front. (I can't afford this)

I would have to choose:
£20/month (300 mins) for 24 months :(, £167.99. (not sure I can afford this either)
or
£20/month (75 mins) for 24 months :(, £93.99.

Both of those are pathetic and nomatter which I choose, its costing me a lot more money for a lot less service.

Indeed I may end up tied into the contract for 6 months longer than planned, getting 125 less minutes each month, paying £127 more over the contract than on the T-Mobile deal.

So I really REALLY hope you are mistaken.

Vodafone, £30/month 18 months + 25 upfront, 300 mins & unlimited text+web

Didn't you see this deal?

That brought it to line with the T-Mobile deal.

Re: Nokia N900 - UK Release Related Information

That's still £118.01 more than the T-Mobile deal over the contract length, hardly comparable. Besides, no I can't see that the one. The only one I can see is £35/month for those prices/minutes.

I would have to get £25/month for 18 months, 75 mins £93.99 up front.

Remind me again what was T-Mobile deal like?

No unlimited web?
What's the point getting this plan on N900 then?

Ok so add £5/month for unlimited web on T-Mobile, which brings the total to £537 (Vodafone = £565 includes handset cost)

Breakdown:

T-Mobile:
Contract - £450 over 18 months
Handset: £87
Total: £537

Vodafone:
Contract - £540 over 18 months
Handset: £25
Total: £565

So for £28 difference, you get unlimited text + 100 mins more a month.

Voda seems to be a better deal here.

Correct me if i'm wrong.

Also if you can wait until January when the handset becomes available for network providers, you can claim £120 cashback with Voda. T-Mobile only doing £70ish at the moment.

Warning to UK customers ordering by CC. My CC company knocked back my pre-order from Nokia yesterday. I phoned them and they said it 'looked suspicious'. Surely It would have been better if they had approved the order then phoned me up to confirm! Now I have to reorder with Nokia Grrrr.

So if you are ordering via CC it might be worth phoning up your CC provider and warning them.

Please could you comment in the thread dedicated to those who had their accounts cancelled. There's support for that here (even if it is only mutual sobbing on shoulders!)

It won't be.
The N900s are departing from NLD today.
With standard delivery, don't think we'll get to play with them until Thursday.

In comparrison TMobile is 1GB a month unless you are on one of their G series phone contracts (HTC Hero/G2) and then it's 3GB.

Hi there everyone,

I'm a new user, but been reading these forums for a few months now. I'm one of the unfortunate people who put their order in with MPD and also took out a T-Mobile contract. Just thought I'd share this webchat with you for those in the same boat as me:

Please wait. A representative will be with you shortly.
One moment please...
We apologize for the delay. A representive will be with you shortly.
Webshop Customer Help says:
how can i help~?
Steve says:
Hi - I have an N900 on pre-order but with a T-Mobile contract from a couple of months back
Steve says:
I was just wondering if those T-Mobile contracts are going to be honoured, and if they will be sent out at the same time as the Vodafone ones?
Webshop Customer Help says:
yes they will be sent out on first come first serve basis, and yes t-mobile orders will be honored
Steve says:
Thank you very much. That's great news.

Of course, the posts from Steve from MPD worry me, but that was certainly reassuring news.

I got a 12-month contract with them at £30 a month (no web) and paid £80 for the phone - this was because I'm going to use my current Voda contract with it and have sold the T-Mobile one to a family member for £15 a month, meaning my N900 only cost me £260 :) If I have to switch to a Voda contract, its going to be another £100-150 on top which would be awful! At least I get paid in two days eh!?

I have a t-mobile contract from MPD and Im expecting them to honour it.
My understanding is that there wasn't a problem with these, it was just there was a quota and the quota of orders was filled, so the t-mobile offer was then withdrawn?

Correct me if Im wrong

Voda deal is only £28 difference (overall cost) compare to that T-Mobile deal.
Gives you 100 more mins and unlimited text+web instead of 200mins 200txts

Just go with that whatever happens to T-Mobile, it's a better deal.

I called Nokia UK today regarding my order and asking for where in the workflow it had progressed. They are apparently awaiting tracking information from UPS which I suspect will be sent as a large dump. That in mind I suspect a huge flood on the forums when everyone's shipping status changes.

Then again there is also another rumour that orders that has been made before it has been removed from the web site will keep the same deals from different provider and there will be no difference on the deals-price, but the provider. Unless they dont send you an e-mail about the subject, there will be no problem and most likely they will inform you at one point, before or after the dispatch. Thank you.

i got the Combi 15 + Web-n-Walk, for an all in price of around £467.

if that changes, then i simply cancel, i won't be messed about after waiting this long.

p.s. my thanks for being so informative, it is appreciated. :)

This was my understanding as well, and I contacted MPD when I saw that the T-mobile offers had disappeared from their site. They said it was simply the case that the quota had been filled and those who had already ordered would have their contract honoured.

I am going to be mighty pi55ed if this turns out not to be true
