Good morning everyone - my F5 key is getting itself warmed up for a real pounding today as well. Lets hope Steve from MPD is correct... I wonder if we can coax him in to posting on this thread, seeing as the UK release page is more about people angry at Nokia directly or people who have now got them.

Just seen this on another thread, hope this is wrong and just another stupid rumour!!!!

My mate placed an order on MPD last week and was told he would receive delivery on the coming saturday. The weekend came and went with no phone arriving. So he called up, only to be told that the device was delayed until 31st december as all units were being recalled. It was apparently due to a fault on the touch screen which had been detected on the n97 and is present on the n900?!?!? Fact or fiction???

- Direct from MobilePhonesDirect (nokia retail). My friend called up and that is what the sales person told him. It sounded fishy to me but i was after some kind of answer really.

I just saw that too - I think one of the posters hit the nail on the head though... if there really was a recall, Nokia would HAVE to make a public announcement and embarrass themselves massively. I'm quietly hopeful that Steve is correct. I didn't like him saying "tomorrow or the day after" for the first batch though...

Here we go another exciting day of lies and incompetance!

|Hopefully they will receive shipment today! lol. If I ring them and they say it should have arrived today, but hasn't turned up I'll ask them how the hell can you order what is probably £10,000s worth of mobiles and not know when they are going to turn up?!

Yeah we talked about that yesterday, bcos UPS do import/exports for Nokia and the Nokia direct pre-order customers got a tracking code, so MFD should have the same thing with the amount on order.

Stayloa, I hope your right, he's said for a while now that we'd get them by the end of the week. Plus we all got that email from them saying 3rd Dec so fingers crossed :rolleyes:

hmmmm, so much waitng. i better not get a duff unit after all this.
Annoying thing on top of all this is im gonna have to wait an extra day on top of the normal delivery time cos i moved and had to redirect my post. Wonder if we'll get them this side of 2010

Re. UPS - I think someone needs to ask them outright about this. I mean, SOMEONE at MPD will have a tracking code, meaning they know where it is and will know exactly when it will come in.

And yeah - I want to trust Steve as he's been pretty honest and hasn't made any wild promises that haven't come true. Along with that email (which was the only official communication we've had), it would make sense that we either get them on the 3rd or they're shipped on the 3rd... So by Saturday, we'll all have N900's...with broken mics and plenty of rebooting... tee hee...!

Haha, yeah but you forgot about the bit where you can't get through to MFD customer service, they don't reply to your emails (as per usual), then they tell you, you to need to return your phone so it can go back to some guy in Finland who is the only person in the world who can fix it and that you've got another 2 month wait, they think! :eek:

How could I have been so silly to have left that out! My pending N900 wouldn't be complete without some p1ss poor customer service and a lack of a UK repair service :-)

Just got this in an email from MPD.

"We are due to start receiving stock of the N900 from this week and envisage fulfilling all pre orders by the end of next week, although we have no definite dates for delivery as yet."

Apparantly they are recieving 200 units per batch having around 700 pre orders.

Delayed again???!

No definite dates for delivery!?! Sounds like rubbish to me. They can't claim to start dispatching units this week if they don't know when they're going to get them. And if they don't know when, they probably don't know how many either.

If this turns out to be official and they are delaying into next week then much as I want it I may have to cancel. Can't deal with another promised date. I've been without a mobile for 3 weeks now and the time where I choose to get my free upgrade from o2 is gradually closing in.

Did you get that out of the blue?? Sent them about 3-4 emails over the wkend and got naff all back.

When did you pre-order?? I was 18th Oct, hopefully I'm not too far down the list :confused:

Ermm...2 weeks?! WTF...

Then again, if that email says they're getting them in this week and will have filled all pre-orders by next week, then it still ties in with what Steve said... 3 batches, lots of pre-orders. Filled on a first come first serve basis. First 2 batches this week, more batches next week (batches 3 and 4)... so makes sense that they'll go in to next week for at least the late October and November orders... And they'll spend 2 weeks filling pre-orders before they hit the stores officially for walk in purchases or orders placed now...

EDIT: Oh... I just saw that webchat. I wan't to kill somone...

Nope, I actually emailed them asking if I could change my tarrif and if this would delay my order, so he gave me the info above about the situation.

I pre-oreder about 1 week ago so I won't be expecting anything until late next week I suppose. :(

expansys have got the Milestone on an 18month contract with T-mobile but no delivery date on there either.

I'm confused - how can there be one email saying they're getting stock this week, and then 2 webchats saying 1.5 weeks or 2 weeks with "talks with Nokia" being had...

im getting so f off right know

ive just rang flagship store spoke to women, asked if they had any phones in (wishful thinking) no stock, asked if i could pre order on the phone as im from bham, she said i could do it online!! i asked from nokias website she said no from MPD, ask if she knew when they will get stock she said no idea.

I would but they may cancel my order.

Did the old, I want to speak to a manager about complaining re - member of staff and then quized him about N900 delay. Lied about needing to know bcos of PAC Code and bombarded them with nasty emails over the past 6-7 weeks.

Not risking it without an alternative.
