Good morning everyone - my F5 key is getting itself warmed up for a real pounding today as well. Lets hope Steve from MPD is correct... I wonder if we can coax him in to posting on this thread, seeing as the UK release page is more about people angry at Nokia directly or people who have now got them.

Just seen this on another thread, hope this is wrong and just another stupid rumour!!!!
My mate placed an order on MPD last week and was told he would receive delivery on the coming saturday. The weekend came and went with no phone arriving. So he called up, only to be told that the device was delayed until 31st december as all units were being recalled. It was apparently due to a fault on the touch screen which had been detected on the n97 and is present on the n900?!?!? Fact or fiction??? - Direct from MobilePhonesDirect (nokia retail). My friend called up and that is what the sales person told him. It sounded fishy to me but i was after some kind of answer really. |

hmmmm, so much waitng. i better not get a duff unit after all this.
Annoying thing on top of all this is im gonna have to wait an extra day on top of the normal delivery time cos i moved and had to redirect my post. Wonder if we'll get them this side of 2010 |

Along with that email (which was the only official communication we've had), it would make sense that we either get them on the 3rd or they're shipped on the 3rd... Just got this in an email from MPD.
"We are due to start receiving stock of the N900 from this week and envisage fulfilling all pre orders by the end of next week, although we have no definite dates for delivery as yet." Apparantly they are recieving 200 units per batch having around 700 pre orders. Delayed again???! |

If this turns out to be official and they are delaying into next week then much as I want it I may have to cancel. Can't deal with another promised date. I've been without a mobile for 3 weeks now and the time where I choose to get my free upgrade from o2 is gradually closing in.

I ordered on the 8th nov so looks like i can be pretty safe in saying i wont be getting mine this week |

Ermm...2 weeks?! WTF...
Then again, if that email says they're getting them in this week and will have filled all pre-orders by next week, then it still ties in with what Steve said... 3 batches, lots of pre-orders. Filled on a first come first serve basis. First 2 batches this week, more batches next week (batches 3 and 4)... so makes sense that they'll go in to next week for at least the late October and November orders... And they'll spend 2 weeks filling pre-orders before they hit the stores officially for walk in purchases or orders placed now... EDIT: Oh... I just saw that webchat. I wan't to kill somone... |

ive just rang flagship store spoke to women, asked if they had any phones in (wishful thinking) no stock, asked if i could pre order on the phone as im from bham, she said i could do it online!! i asked from nokias website she said no from MPD, ask if she knew when they will get stock she said no idea. |
