Re: N9 16/64GB: worldwide availability & pricing
I can vouch for worldwidevoltage I placed my order with them yesterday for a Magenta Nokia N9 and it was shipped to Halifax today, I asked for express shipping.. Sadly I was not home to sign for it :( so they will deliver it again tomorrow. The only thing is that the brokerage charges were ridiculous in total i will have to pay $99.31 on top of the $731 i paid already for the phone plus express shipping. This really sucks but oh well I'm just happy I will finally have the damn phone tomorrow . I think it will be worth it :).

Re: N9 16/64GB: worldwide availability & pricing
Hi, I am trying to get a "made in finland" N9 64GB model.
I have mailed www.expansys.com to query whether they are going to ship to india or not, but no reply from them. Thinking of buying from Handtec, (they told me they can ship to india). But I have seen a thread with many complaints on the models recieved from them. Are there any alternatives to get finland model? Read some where that finland build quality is better than made in china, is this true? |
Re: N9 16/64GB: worldwide availability & pricing
Guys, can someone confirm if this place is good for purchasing ? Not like handtec.co.uk with restarting problems ?
http://www.ctinyc.com/show_product_d...29&brandtype=0 I wrote them email and I got this answer: This model is made by Nokia in China, also if ship by FedEx is should take 3-4 days to arrive. Also someone can confirm if this version (Nokia in China) is ok ? thanks |

I've tried pretty much everything it can do, apart from heavy browsing. No crashes. I've also been using it with a micro-sim since this morning, and again, it just worked (I did need to reboot for it to recognise the SIM, though). I also found a few useful apps in the store (yes, it's a tiny store compared with iOS or Android). The MAIN annoying thing - forget about synchronizing your contacts and calendar directly with your computer. It just isn't supported. I have a MAC and use iCal and the address book, and used to happily sync my old Nokia using iSync. But the N9 isn't supported (trust me, I tried everything, including Nokia beta labs software). Apparently, not even people using Outlook calendars can sync. The only way really is to go through Google calendar and contacts (which sort of defeats the purpose). Thankfully I was able to sync the contacts directly from my old phone (thank you, Nokia), but can't sync them back to the Mac. BEGIN TECH I've enabled developer mode, and ssh into the phone. The calendar is stocked in a SQLite3 format, so coming up with a sync with the (also SQLite3) mac calendar should be doable. If Nokia don't do it soon, I'll have a quick go at it. END TECH All in all, I'm very happy with the phone. Everyone wants to hold it and swipe, and seem frustrated going back to their androids. |
Re: N9 16/64GB: worldwide availability & pricing
I got my tracking info from worldwidevoltage.com everything looks good, it's going to arrive one day quicker than expected, they have stock, the price is great. So far so good, I'm just praying it isn't a starhub or handtec model...
*side note* Never dealt with cutting a sim to micro sim, did anyone run into problems using templates online and using scissors? |

Zack time for me to make your day , IT IS NOT BRANDED WITH ANYTHING and it's made in China. So far everything is good it doesn't crash or lag under pressure I've been using it constantly for the past hr with 15+ apps at any given point. Im in LOVE waited so long and it was worth it.

Re: N9 16/64GB: worldwide availability & pricing
I just want to let anyone in the US know that B/M/C N9 models are available here from Yellow Deals in Amazon, and of course all made in Finland (I contacted them)
Pretty good deals if you want one now. |

Re: N9 16/64GB: worldwide availability & pricing
I just received my N9 64GB from worldwidevoltage and DAMMMMMMMMMNIT it's Starhub branded!!!!!!!!!!
:-( So I guess I'm going to have to flash it to a european version... However delivery time was fast, price was reasonable. So if you want a starhub branded N9 64gb in the states go with WorldWideVoltage for $699 |
Re: N9 16/64GB: worldwide availability & pricing
My theory is that because of the branding you got a lower price vs. the higher prices you see from other merchants (which could be non branded).
Then branding knocks off a few bucks. |
Re: N9 16/64GB: worldwide availability & pricing
Yeah it sucks, I'm downloading the flasher and the central euro .bin file now

Re: N9 16/64GB: worldwide availability & pricing
I can't say, but they did respond to me really fast when I contacted them. Also their feedback is good.
I've ordered one from them but I made it a gift to someone so until I'm told it's not faulty I won't know. Warranty is a bit tricky since Nokia US might be reluctant to have a look at the device, but I'm sure if there's something wrong with it Yellow Deals would replace the device and we would avoid Nokia. Also I'd rather deal with them from Amazon Market since the others I contacted refused to tell me where the device was made and ignored my questions. |

Re: N9 16/64GB: worldwide availability & pricing
Newbie here. After reading and looking at reviews, I have decided I'm going to get the n9. I plan to get it in march because that's when my contract with sprint is over. How much do you all think the n9 will cost by then? I was hoping around $500-$550. Is that feasible?
|
Re: N9 16/64GB: worldwide availability & pricing
unfortunately you wouldn't be able to use it with Sprint, unless you mean you're going to switch to to T-Mobile or AT&T

Re: N9 16/64GB: worldwide availability & pricing
One way to do it is to look at prices of E7, C7, N8..and so on.
And obviously the 16GB version is more likely to drop to those prices. By March I would expect a $100 drop, definitely not more, since it is somewhat limited in production and also demand is constant. Also with the release of Lumia, Nexus and other devices the price should go down a little |

Can anyone comment on this? Nokia N9 16GB at £284.72 |
Re: N9 16/64GB: worldwide availability & pricing
to be honest, i think any prices that is off of the average price of $650 usd should raise a red flag...unless the N9 is used. just a suggestion

The web site isn't totally professional but doesn't look a total scam either... Their Contact Us page they do tell their address and phone number, as well as few IM accounts. (Someone familiar with Malaysia should comment about the street address and phone number?) Payment method seem to be Credit Card, which is good. I sent them few questions through their messaging systems. Let's see what they reply. |
Re: N9 16/64GB: worldwide availability & pricing
USD450(MYR1,422) is cheap, sounds too good to be true.Unless..... the owner won it from the N9 contest, then he/she got it free, selling it. THe cheapest price in Malaysia for 16GB thus far is MYR1,699(USD537) from brick & mortar shops
Plus, how come the shop is in Sarawak when most sites & bigger stores are situated in the city capital Kuala Lumpur. Sounds dodgy to me. |
