Same for me. The crashes occur often (1-3 times per hour) but this command works the way you say. I tried to check autostart but that completely messed up the wifi connection for some reason. And the phone app. A reboot fixed that, but still...

And yes, this too. If the phone is left for a couple of minutes Mitäkuuluu disconnects and won't reconnect until opened.

I think crashing has something to do with presence settings, I have set "Always display online" and no engine crash. Display online when app is open and Always display offline modes works okay but they crash server part often somehow.

Re: [v0.1-28] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

@solbrit autostart doesn't stay on for me... once i close the ui, it becomes unchecked again...

i agree... with 27 it became quite unreliable, but the behaviour seems to be random... worked for hours in the office, then crashed 3 times within 20 minutes... i'll try 26 now and report back tomorrow...

I'm afraid that's not it. I also have "Always online" and it keeps crashing.
It worked perfectly today as long as I was home, but when I left I had the problem. (Later I also had a problem with not getting mobile data to work until a reboot. Somehow Jolla's connectivity is not working really well.)
Though the other crashes I had before were when connected to Wifi, so that's not really ruling anything out.

you can install "filetug" from warehouse. It's a file explorer that lets you see hidden folders/files. Settings -> directory view -> show hidden files

Updated to 1-29 eight hours ago, no crash yet. Sure looks promising...
Oh, and I see profile picture setting sticks now. Good one :)

EDIT

Twelve hours, multiple network changes, no crashes, no disconnecting in background, settings work, all is fine, life is good.
Thankyou Coderus!

Re: [v0.1-29] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

Might be that I am blind and I have had discussion about this issue in bugtracker with corerus already, but just get comment from others too. Three contacts, top one online, middle one blocked and bottom one offline. With light or bright color ambiences no problem to see the difference on Jolla screen, but darker the ambiance is more difficult it is for me to see any difference. (do not mind the order of avatars)

http://autorata.com/files/jolla/Blocked_issue_Woody.jpg http://autorata.com/files/jolla/Bloc...aby_flower.jpg http://autorata.com/files/jolla/Bloc...e_Moonship.jpg http://autorata.com/files/jolla/Blocked_issue_Black.jpg http://autorata.com/files/jolla/Bloc...sue_Bluish.jpg

May be it is just me having this issue. I was checking how same feature has been implemented in iOS version of Whatsapp and blocking couldn't be much better hidden than it is in that one. Although in iOS version it is impossible to block someone by accident, so well the blocking (of known contacts) has been hidden.

Why you using Jolla when if iOS perfect for you? It's my application and if don't want to change anything i wouldn't.

I don;t know why I can only receive messages when i open the app.

Also, the time of those unread messages is the time I reopen the app.

The other problem is that we cannot access the SD card to send media

Re: [v0.1-29] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

^^Who said iOS is perfect? You did. I am using official Whatsapp on iOS as comparison and to test the communication between Mitäkuuluu and official Whatsapp. I also use Android version running in Samsung phone to test and compare. I have my own reasons for using Jolla as well as my own reasons to use other phones with other platforms too.

Of course you make your own decisions what to implement and what to change in your application and what not.

May be my wording has been then wrong but I do not wan't to be offensive. Instead I just wanted to share that I have difficulty to notice the difference of offline and blocked contacts and others way have that same difficulty too. Someone else could have just published his own "app" patching Mitäkuuluu QML files or k*** s*rv*r but I won't. That wouldn't be fair.

One more thing. I really appreciate work you have done with this application. This is absolutely excellent application, in my option best 3rd party application there is available for Jolla.

Re: [v0.1-29] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

Other issue, other posting. In my Jolla (1.0.3.8) Mitäkuuluu (0.1-29) still looses connections and goes offline. I do not know how much there is that can be done on application itself when whole phone seems to be in "deep sleep" and all other connections from it and to it have been lost too. This has happened since very initial SailfishOS version and still continues and makes wifi totally dead. It wakes up if I open screen lock or ping the wifi interface from other device. However Mitäkuuluu does not reconnect automatically in that case.

Re: [v0.1-29] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

@Penguin i can add skins support for roster and you can hack it delegate then.
i will never change something i like :)

@yabush @Penguin because of 1.0.3.8 update enabled suspend sleep

Give me Jolla to fix your problems with Mitakuuluu. with 1.0.2.5 on my N9 everything okay. I can see when something blocked and when not, and reconnection always automatically.

so far 0.1-29 has been working perfectly... for me, that is...

i counted 70+ thanks for this thread... that would be less than 5€ for everyone to fund one of the used Jollas on tmo to coderus... anyone in?

edit: i'd be willing to fund more than those 5€ so we won't need all 70 ;)

Few times per day I can see "Authorization..." text in multitasking screen and can't receive messages in that state. Opening Mitäkuuluu to foreground makes it to login and messages will be delivered and it continues to work as expected. However after and hour or ten or even more in idle it looses connection and finally I can see the same "Authorization..." again.

I am experiencing some strange and annoying bug with latest 29 build: All my settings - even my Whatsapp Name and status - are reset after syncing all my contacts.

Steps to reproduce:

1. sync all your contacts
-> the status of all your contacts will disappear
3. close Mitakuuluu by swiping down
4. reopen Mitakuuluu
- this brings back the status of all your contacts
-> and all your settings are gone/ reset...

No I didn't miss that. It might be because of Sailfish feature but as such it does not make any sence. My Jolla was on table, Mitäkuuluu UI running on background, device screen locked for 10 hours when I was sleeping (and watching slope style competition from Sochi). Whole that time phone was untouched but it must have been online because I received a message to Mitäkuuluu. After reading that message I put app to background and left to phone to same place on table. 70 minutes later there was this "authorization..." on screen.

Might be that this behaviour has nothing to do with Mitäkuuluu app (UI or server) nor Whatsapp service except that we Mitäkuuluu users are victims of it. Still I can't understand how the phone won't go to deep sleep in 10 hours, but it does it in an hour. It is illogical.

I've noticed the same behaviour. Did you connect the charger at night? Cause I'm assuming it won't go to deep sleep with charger connected...

No phone has not been in charger for two days.

Penguin 2014-02-10 06:57

Re: [v0.1-29] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

After short night in charger:
  • other network connections live
  • harbour-mitakuuluu-server dead/crashed/not running any more
  • harbout-mitakuuluu in sleep (authorization...)

solbrit 2014-02-10 07:21

Re: [v0.1-29] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

That's funny... On mine Mitakuuluu will typically go to sleep ("authorization" or "connecting") after an hour or so of phone inactivity while discharging, but never when connected to charger.

Could you, Coderus, please share old .26 version? At least for me that worked flawlessly. The current version working otherwise ok, but the authorization/connection lost problem, is still happening so often that I would rather downgrade if that is possible? It should be, right?

confirmed... was in authorization mode this morning while still being attached to the charger... maybe deep sleep needs active usb-data connection to be disabled?

29 isn't crashing anymore so it's ok for me... we'll have to wait for a proper solution from jolla i guess...
