too bad. that could been an indication that tablet is close to release if people getting cases...but no case so far...think jolla pushing the shippment breaks.

no stskeeps in this thread the last few days either. could be an indication that they have a tricky issue with the tablet.

or he is simply on a well deserved vaccation. who knows... :D

we have now more than 150 tablets buyers in this thread. AWESOMe...and possably a few 100ed readers more. So some jolla precence would be nice...how to trick cybette to join the waiting thread? maybe one post every week so we know thst they are working and not eating mema. or is it memma? mämmi? Maemo.... yes, thats it.

@bubbless cant double quete since using a jolla with out copy&paste. yes, the cases ordered via indiegogo. but i was thinking about standaline orders from lastu.

I've ordered the case few weeks ago from Lastu and it has been shipped last saturday, for sure the case will be there before the tablet...

Personally contributed to Mapbagrag sleeve and LastuCase, but no sign of either shipping.

I don't have problem, but I promised my GF to give her my current LG G Pad 8.3 and now she's the one eagerly expecting arrival of my Jolla tablet :D

Oops, my bad -- I didn't know this is also available.

Edit: If I understand correctly Indiegogo contributors have to wait for tablet relase, while everybody else who order through webshop can get cases "now"? Considering last statement on page "Deliveries will start in about fifteenth of July."

I missed the Indiegogo version by like a few minutes - they're basically the same but all walnut + Jolla logo whereas this version has three types of wood.

This is shipping at the end of July; same as the Indiegogo version I think. We're not getting anything sooner. And no update as of yet + 2 weeks shipping.

Long story short: display now fixed, developer loan program starting (with tablets arriving in their hands in early August), general shipping to contributors to occur 3-5 weeks after developer loan program completes. Which, I'm guessing, means roughly end of September or so...

It seems earliest mid/end of september for non developers.

Depends on your definition of "old hardware". :) If you consider a device old whenever a new CPU comes out, then yeah, pretty much every device ever released by every manufacturer is always obsolete the very day it is released. :)

Posted on the blog my opinion:

Will the Lastucase come then individually?
Will the Jollaphone get Sailfish OS 2.0 prior to the tablet release?
What were the old screen specs and what are the new ones?
The 2nd perk “split screen feature” was told to be implemented Q3 when the tablets will be sent to backers. Does that mean this timeline is affected to?

Delaying the delivery for a second time is in my opinion not as bad as the consistenty of this “trickle down” information desaster.

Lol at everyone in the comments who happily bought this expecting May/June arrival but now are saying the hardware will be "old" after a 3 month delay. Please tell us what things you won't be able to do with it arriving in September that you could have done with it in June.

Why don't you just say you're mad you didn't get the toy you were promised exactly when you wanted it.

Well, I was going to take over the world, and it could have worked if I had started end of May. I was also going to fix poverty, hunger and give everybody equal opportunities. It was a pretty sound plan too - but it needed a Jolla tablet delivered on time.
Now that chance is gone; thanks, Jolla.

PS: I can't even play GTA V now, as that was my plan B.

If the hardware quality is fine that is not an issue.

Looking around at the phone market it appears that by end of Sept 2015 Sailfish 2.0 will have a good chance to be the latest and greatest consumer smartphone OS on the planet.

One of the reasons for that would be that it will have to run fine on pretty old hardware like the Jolla phone and Tablet.

What makes me mad is not that i get me toy on time (resp. after 2nd delay). What makes me angry is the #unlike #openness and other PR speech whereas the communication was just disastrous in the last 2-3 months.
#soon #shortly are terms i dont want to hear anymore. On the last blog entry (10days to 2 weeks ago) Jolla wrote that the shipping in July MAY be affected. Really? If sending out the tablets is 3-5 weeks after the developer loan programm starts Jolla 1000% had to know 2 weeks ago but didnt want to tell then.

1. Bought another tablet today. Can't wait any more for jolla. Surface Pro 3...vacation is imminent.

3. I think jolla should cover tax for its backers. Would be the right thing to do.

Well, actually, yeah! That's kind of the point of Apple: they put an awful lot of time and effort into their software, and an awful lot of time and effort into their hardware design, and even an awful lot of time and effort into the look of their products. And so, their products take an awful lot of time before they are released.

Say what you will about the company, their products tend to be beautiful, easy-to-use, and last forever. Whereas companies that live on the bleeding edge tend to rush out devices full of bugs that fall apart quickly...

Hey, this is a solid piece of communication from a group that I used to slam for being "vague".

Kudos to them. This kind of communication will work for some (read: I don't mind) but to others, it's not as effective as it seems. And about "old hardware" - this is based on a decision from perhaps last year.
