Re: The Future of Jolla's Tablet

I really don't understand the hostility in thread towards Dave999. He created this thread, let him say what he likes. You're all free create another Jolla Tablet thread if you don't like what he says. I don't agree with everything he says but let him say it, as long he doesn't cross the line. Last night someone else did cross the line and I had the unfortunate displeasure of seeing something I really hoped I would never see on this forum. If it were me, I would have issued a ban but he seems to have escaped with a slap the wrist. Give Dave a break, he's not the bad guy here.

Dave999 2016-05-29 16:13

Re: The Future of Jolla's Tablet

yeah it sad so see stuff like yesterday and other personal attacks that don't result in bans. I have seen and also received a few personal attacks and it usually not dealt with other than removing(maybe some points). Sometimes they are allowed to stay too.

But most of the times most of the moderators are doing a great job, it not an easy task to handle people.

Anyway, I think people will be happier when the full refund finally appears. So let's focus on that rather than hunting the bad guy, whoever you think it is.

999 problems but a Dave ain't one.
I do get pictures all kind of commercials pictures showing on the XDA forum site on my mind while reading a posts on this thread.

Dave, you got totally out of track, Sir.

The pre-orders for the Jolla C/Intex device are allready sold out AFAIK.
Do you really think that a company like Jolla would try to scam there costumers on purpose?

Got the refund for tablet and case but not for the 62gb upgrade - paid with different cards and Jolla keeps telling that they have to proceed that separately and I have to be patient till end of May to receive the money ...

No, no, no! That's not how you do it. You should say, delivered in Q3/2016 and then come up with a bunch of excusesreasons why not.

Yes and no, together with the fact that it's bad buissniess to screw their most loyal supports. In fact, I think the commander in chief realized it was the only play after promising the tablet at slush.

It's would be fun to see how many that actually donated money now since many considerd it to be a donation in the first place.

Todays answer from Jolla:

Hello.

Thanks for the heads up.

We need to investigate further. This will take its time, as we have several other cases, similar in nature.

We will get back to you as soon as we can.

Sorry for the inconvenience.
Sincerely,
Jolla Customer Care

Didn't got half of the extra update to 64 either. But I rather feel scamed...as long as Jolla doing the honor that second refund.

So you don't think Jolla listen to the community?

Not the portion of the community that oft states and/or misspells "scammed".

Jolla is part of this community. Yet I cannot blame them from being somewhat reticent and avoiding interfacing certain folks due to how absolutely nothing will make some happy.

"It's not open enough..." types - yet nothing is open in the mobile sector fully open that has sold more than 10000 units. And being open doesn't really mean that they'd ever even add anything to it. Just that they're so damn used to saying "it must be open"... wannabe Richard Stallman.

"I've not received my full refund..." types - other crowdfunded failures got absolutely nothing back in most cases. Can't even find a moment of happiness in that it seems.

But since you have a very short attention span...

tl;dr

Yes. Jolla listens. Jolla is part of this community. Jolla didn't deliver the tablets. Jolla is still in business. Jolla still wants to be that option not named iOS and Android.

Gerbick, we are talking about the refund decision here, which was the one you commented before.

You seems to be talking about somethings completely different in your last post, not less true but still a completely different animal of discussion.

I'm addressing the entire situation. Pull out the bit that applies to you.

If you really think that you're behind the refund situation; you're way wrong. Jolla knew they had not delivered and they are making it right. You had nothing to do with it. And your entire "It's a scam" mantra has done nothing either.

Anything else you want me to say to stroke your ego today? Or can we consider this business concluded?

I won't bother Jolla with an irrelevant game, but I don't think you have the odds with you if the question was asked like that :D

You might be better luck with: Did dave999 force you to issue refunds? But I don't think anyone believe that was the case. Atleast I hope not.

Then perhaps stop claiming something you cannot prove. I'd rather think that Jolla knows that the community is more important to them than your repeated, self-serving commentary.

Never claimed that is a fact even if i actually believe comments from community was part of the discussion . We manged to get the result we wanted.

Done deal. Over and out. Now part 1 is done. (As soon as mscion get his money). Let's leave it as disagreement.

Ha ha. Still waiting. But I did contact customer service today and they are looking in to it. For the record, I have no ill feelings towards Jolla and I am hoping they succeed.

Face it without community, Jolla has in Sailfish yet another SavaJe, MeeGo, Maemo, WinCE, FirefoxOS, Bada, LiMo and so many other dead mobile OS's. Community == users. Community == support.

Without making things right, Jolla would have lost the above in massive ways. You did nothing but annoy the **** out of some of us here at TMO.

You're waffling. Either you did state it (see above), got what you wanted by not being a quiet fanboy or you didn't claim it and it still happened anyway. And by now, I do not expect anything straight-forward from you other than "scam" and other misspelled adventure.

Enjoy your portion of the refund. Bring up the missing portion with Jolla. Enjoy the rest of your day.

Excellent news. Hope you get the Money soon. And for the record, I dont think many poeple here have ill fellings towards jolla. And I hope they refund and succeed. Me personally think jolla has improved tremendously since James joined the ship. (Nothing bad about cybette) He takes his time and answer as well as he can as often as he can.

How does it feel to be the last one to get refunded?
